This is a family-favourite Chinese restaurant that we’ve been going to for many years. The food quality is always excellent, and the service is consistently friendly and helpful. The portions are generous, and the menu selection is incredible - there’s literally something for everyone!nnWhether you’re craving meat, vegetables, noodles, rice, steamed or fried dishes, everything is made fresh and served hot. The food is always flavourful and consistent across all their locations, but I find this one and the Don Mills & Lawrence location stand out for their extra attention to quality and service.nnWe had our Mid-Autumn Festival dinner here a few days ago, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was perfectly cooked, and even the dessert was delicious!nnHighly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Chinese Cantonese comfort food, great value, and a reliable family dining experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Went on a Friday around 12:06pm, not too busy but the waiters and waitresses don’t work efficiently. Both new and my sister wan need to try the fish broth noodles, which you have to order on a separate sheet to mark your choices and options, a waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order, and we mentioned we both want the noodles, she said she’ll bring another order sheet, and she never came back… we waited another 5 minutes until we finally got the sheet and placed our food order it was hard to get their attention as they’re always looking elsewhere, looking down, or chatting.nThe spring roll included in the lunch special was cold and not at all crispy, it was a bit soggy. When the lemon tea arrived, the waitress accidentally dropped the spoon on the floor, but she never returned with a new spoon, so had to share a spoon to mix the sugar and lemon…nEven spotted a waitress on her phone for at least 3 minutes without looking up once to see if any customers needed assistance, and she stood front and centre right by the cash counter where everyone can see she’s slacking off during work.
I was actually surprised about the food quality here. Everything was very above average considering the price. I had heard good things about congee queen but never had a chance to try. Safe to say we were not disappointed.
Congee Queen at this location quickly became my favorite spot for delicious congee and a wide variety of Cantonese cuisine. The flavors are authentic, the portions generous, and every visit feels like a treat. It’s a go-to place whenever I’m craving comfort food with a Cantonese touch.
Got takeout for this Congee Queen and honestly the portion is not bad. We got the fried lobster and mango shrimp and they were delicious. Although I wish the lobster had more meat and more shrimp a good chunk of it was pork. It would have just been better value. Overall, still pretty good.
