Got takeout for this Congee Queen and honestly the portion is not bad. We got the fried lobster and mango shrimp and they were delicious. Although I wish the lobster had more meat and more shrimp a good chunk of it was pork. It would have just been better value. Overall, still pretty good.
I’ve been coming here for years, and the food consistently hits the spot. On my latest visit, I ordered the Cantonese Chow Mein, Dried Seafood and Garlic Fried Rice, Seafood Super Bowl Congee, and Deep-Fried Chicken Wings.nnThe Cantonese Chow Mein is always a standout – perfectly crispy noodles topped with a rich, flavorful gravy and a generous mix of meat and seafood. The Dried Seafood and Garlic Fried Rice is one of my personal favorites – it’s packed with umami and incredibly aromatic.nnThe Seafood Super Bowl Congee is comforting and full of depth, with a hearty portion of seafood that makes it especially satisfying on a cold day or any day, really. The deep-fried chicken wings were crisp, juicy, and well-seasoned – great as a side or starter.nnThis place is a family favorite, and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious, portions are generous, and the flavors never disappoint. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
I recently visited Congee Queen and was disappointed with their Chinese barbecue offerings. I ordered the pork belly which came with an additional $1.50 charge and duck, but both were mostly bone with very little actual meat. The cuts felt cheap and did not justify the price at all. For a restaurant that typically offers solid dishes, the barbecue was a letdown—definitely not recommended if you're looking for good value or quality cuts.
Food is excellent, particularly the fried rice and the fried turnip cake. Overall the rating at this place higher than the one on East Markham Highway 7.
The food was kinda good, and staff were very friendly, especially when my sister lost her tooth. But, the place was noisy, so I wasn’t able to hear my relatives speaking most of the time.
