Fantastic breakfast. My mom ordered the Colossal Breakfast Lite, and I ordered the regular Colossal Breakfast. My bacon was nice and crisp, the eggs and hash browns were nice and crisp. My mom's scrambled eggs were great with the extra cheese and avocado on the side. The biscuits are super thick and hearty, and the strawberry jam is perfect with them. The pancakes flappers are also delicious and so filling.
Colossal Cafe is Vegetarian & Vegan friendly! It's not just "grilled cheese /Plain eggs " either! Colossal Cafe Should Definitely be at the top of every vegetarian/ vegans list of places to go! My partner & I decided to order take out for Breakfast & saw Wild Mushroom biscuits & Gravy & we were all in! I also ordered a side of hash browns & side order of fruit! The portions are larger than other restaurants & We opted to put half our biscuits to the side for later.only half the biscuit is pictured same with the gravy The biscuits are scratch made & baked to perfection. The vegetarian Wild Mushroom gravy blew our minds! Seasoned beautifully & taste Amazing! We opted for scrambled eggs cooked well done with Cheddar cheese. Their Hash browns are what I wish for every time I order Hash browns but rarely get. They weren't too salty & they weren't plain either. They paired well with the gravy , with the eggs or on their own! I ordered a side of fruit & was surprised to see such an amazing variety. Banana slices, blueberries, grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple & strawberries all topped with a thick slice of a very fresh orange! Every piece of fruit was edible. Which in my experience never happens This was our first time here so I can't speak to their consistency but I will update here after we've tried them a few more times! A major plus in our household is the use of biodegradable containers for take away & to see that colossal Cafe is partaking in that shouldn't be overlooked! Hurry go check out this amazing hotspot!
The best breakfast I have ever had ! Everyone in our group loved every thing they ordered. The Breakfast Burger was to die for. Pork and Bison gravy delicious and seasoned perfectly. Best sourdough bread and biscuits. We even got a fresh loaf of bread to take home !
This place takes reservations for big groups but when I went the AC was blasting so I ended up putting on a sweater. Display of the food looks great but the flappers were very doughy as if it was undercooked. Biscuits and gravy was ok, biscuits are really big and filling so it could possibly be split by 2 people. Service was just so so, our server kept forgetting things and no one really came by to refill our water. There is street parking or else they have a little parking lot next to the gas station.
Huge portions, friendly service, and fun atmosphere. We waited for awhile to be seated, but it was totally worth it. The biscuits were scrumptious, and the pancake was so fluffy! A great weekend brunch spot in St Paul.
If you're looking for a breakfast spot, this is the place. And come hungry. Got the Colossal Breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, and biscuits. It was plenty of food for breakfast...and lunch. Others in my party ordered breakfast sandwiches which looked equally as good. Also, at cafes sometimes, you get watered down coffee. Not this place, it's good coffee you can taste. Highly recommend Colossal Cafe!
We shared a cinnamon roll to start. It was served warm and was excellent. The breakfast meals were all well done. This is a great place to stop for breakfast. I don't think we all will need to eat for the rest of the day! Parking: There is a dedicated parking lot across the street. Roadside parking is also free.
Came across this gem of a breakfast/lunch spot. Easy to find on a corner, people seemed nice, a few outdoor tables, realistic options looked really good but I was picking up a Cuban sandwich. It was really good! Bread was soft but edges were crusty. The pork had delicious burnt ends to them and the mustard had a small kick and made the sandwich moist all the way through. One of the best things I've had in the area!
The coffee was very tasty!!! The cinnamon rolls were huge. The fruit ones were way better then the apples and bri pancake!!! It was just too syrupy and the apples were gross. The fruit ones were super fresh.
We ordered breakfast. Parts of it were good. Other portions were not great. The eggs were well prepared and very good. The bacon was good, but not the best I've had. The sourdough toast was excellent and I recommend you order it if you like sourdough. The gluten free toast might have been good but they but the burnt it - like charcoal brick burned. Similarly, the hash browns were done very well on top, and that part tastes good, but they must have never flipped them because they were raw and greasy on the bottom. Inconsistent is the best way I can describe the meal.
