One of our favorite Mexican restaurants so far. Some of the best food we had had in a long time. Full of flavor, all around greatness. Their margaritas were amazing. Very friendly owner and waitress. Not many Mexican restaurants I recommend. I highly recommend this one. You won't be disappointed.
Nice pleasant restaurant, decor and atmosphere. So started with salsa and chips which was good. I order a La carte, 2 street tacos pork carnitas, chorizo and a shredded beef enchilada. Tacos was great and the enchilada was good but I did fine it smaller than other restaurants. The beans tasted good and the rice was just slightly bland. Place wasn’t busy and waited too long just for a refill. I would still recommend this Mexican restaurant.
Went here last night. Kathy, our server, was phenomenal. The food was pretty decent. Margarita’s were good. Guacamole was decent. Chips and salsa was just ok until we asked for the spicy salsa. Hubby ordered fajita which was hearty and according to him “the best he’s ever had”. I ordered chicken tacos which were served with beans and rice that I really, really enjoyed. Prices were right. I’d eat here again.
Wow, passing thru, read the nice reviews and wanted to try this place, sorely disappointed with the food, maybe I just didn't order the right dish. I'm from the south and this can't compare. But had the best Mexican food in Beltsville MD. Go figure. However I love the restaurant vibe, great place for a date.Food: 2/5
10 min waitlist. Service good. We couldn't decide it all looked tempting but order was quick. Drinks were great and food very good as well as plentiful. I couldn't eat it all.Food: 5/5
All I know is that after one lunch here this is going to be a place I come back to for the rest of my life despite it being a 2-hour drive for me. I am vegan and have never really experienced a Mexican restaurant that gives you that traditional feel while still having plenty of non-traditional options to eat. Rightfully so as well since I know many locations and recipes use animal products and their beans and rice - And that's how they've done it for a long time! I was so pleasantly surprised when looking at restaurants in the area to stumble across Cocina de Carlos. We went on a Friday afternoon and we're set immediately. I ordered the vegano combo and it was incredible. The beans and rice were probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant. The avocado was fresh, the vegan queso was out of this world, the salsa and chips that come for free before your meal were even better. After two margaritas and a plate full of INCREDIBLE food, I left a very happy woman.
Great authentic Mexican dishes! The guac was spectacular and so were our lunches! It is a big 5 star rating for me! The servers were exceptional! No issues at this restaurant!
Just seeing that I left this as a draft. NOV. 22...Fast & friendly survice. Accommodated a large party. I was pleasantly surprised our reservations through Google went through without a glitch. Food is always hot & delicious! March of 23.... Came in early Friday evening Just 2 of us this timeGreat service! Our waiter was pleasant, engaging & attentive. He checked on us frequently. We each ordered Carne asada tacos. It was okay. Not much flavor this time around. Typically the food here is great. We'll be back.
The place is family friendly which I loved! The food is absolutely delicious! Vegetarian options: They're vegan but they're absolutely delicious
I went here by chance as a meeting place with family traveling south on 75 and loved it. The other ratings part of why I chose it were right on. My uncle, who is quite a cook, loved it as well. We've both added it to our list of "must come back" places! He also noticed there is a devoted vegan section on the menu. That's important for a cousin of mine and sometimes hard to find. A multi-faceted treasure! Vegetarian options: Vegan section on menu, including vegan white cheese dip.
