I paid online with the Coop app and my credit card was charged then 3 women got in and the cab sped off, even though we frantically tried to wave him down. I automatically called the dispatch and they called the driver who said the women gave my name or did the driver ask them and they said yes? , so basically the 3 women got a free ride on me. The guy said nothing could be done and he would send a new cab but I would have to pay again, which I could not do.  He said he would put me in contact with the cab drivers manager and they may be able to give me a refund.. then he hung up on me. So I called back had to explain everything again. They refused to send me the cab I paid for and said all they could do if refund my card.  I asked why they would not verify that it was actually me and how they would go forward to ensure this wouldn't happen again. No answers.. the tone was almost like it was my fault.. Anyways today they refunded me and then took the money out again. I called  and I was met with a i don't believe you attitude.  Then transferred to the manager which went to a  voice-mail. Now hours later still no reply. I would not recommend using this company and certainly not the app.. there is no protection for the clients paying online .. they let anybody take your cab and leave you stranded.
Don't do it. You'll regret it! I've tried co-op taxi several times. I've given benefit of the doubt that things happen and sometimes taxi's are busy. I really try to be open minded and practice the golden rule of treating others like you would like to be treated but, it's been consistently bad over a long period of time. I've booked a taxi ahead each time and had a terrible experience every single time. I've gotten confirmation about the address of pick up, the time, and where I'm going and it never turns out which is a huge problem. I book ahead because I have a specific time frame. Today, I again got confirmation from a live person. There was no indication there may be a problem accommodating my book ahead request. I got 2 texts that the taxi was on its way. Then I get a phone call about 10 min before the booked pick up time , from the driver, asking my address for pick up. I told him the address again which was weird as I had confirmed the address with dispatch and I would think that would be pertinent info for the driver ...Anyway, he indicated that he is about 45 min away remember I had taxi booked for 10 min after this call and essentially not coming. He'll have dispatch call me. Dispatch never did call. I got several automated phone calls asking if I'd still like the taxi, which I confirmed. I called and the automation says I have 0 min to wait. Okay, should be soon... Another text that driver is on the way. 25 min past pick up time, another automated voice call asking if I'd still like the ride. I just cancelled. Why confirm from the start? I could of booked elsewhere. It's not very professional and pretty essential for reputation for a taxi service to honour comittments ... Like I said, it's happened regularly. Don't waste your time on this taxi service !
My cab ride was paid for by an organization. They called and organized the pickup and drop off both ways. The first driver arrived on time and he had the A/C on as it was a very hot day but a few blocks away from my destination he open his window and the hot air came rushing in ... not sure in the logic behind that. No complaints about the first driver. The second driver was at my location within the 10 second the service called to let me know my cab was there. Even before I got in the car ... the smell was horrendous. I got in and my window which was the only one closed. I immediately put on mask cause the smell was so bad , I felt ill. Of course we had a lot of red lights and I'm not sure where hecwas going but I had to tell how to get to my house. He dropped me off about a block away but I didn't care as it smelled so bad. I get that drive cab all night in 30c heat .. he could smell! But you should know how to deal with it like we all have to do . The first cab driver didn't smell ... the main reason I don't like taking cabs. Why is it that Uber driver ask if you want the A/C on ..their cars are clean and smell nice etc .. the cab companies need to step up
I regret to inform you there are drivers responding negatively to a disabled person with a wheelchair or walker. To expect the disabled person to physically place their wheelchair inside the taxi trunk is beyond reproach. To huff with exasperation that your help was expected, is quite juvenile. I am appalled at the lack of consideration and empathy. To leave them stranded is infuriating. Especially when we are long term customers aware of making a request beforehand. We tip gracefully when you go over and beyond. I wondered why your ratings were so low. And, after the last few times, that reason is clear.
I was stuck for a truck as the one I had lined up broke down. I asked for a van cab to bring my belongings from 96 st & 111 ave NW to Spruce Grove. They informed me of a $10 fee on top of the fare. I agreed, since it was a specialty order. After two failed attempts to get a cab there, one drive off, the other went to the wrong side of 111 ave and argued that I was giving him the incorrect address and that I was now giving him a hard time as I was giving him directions to where I was. He never came. Called dispatch and informed her about the difficulties I was having and that I was waiting for over an hour now. 3rd cab showed up, didn't want to back up to my items for easier loading. Then argued about only using a small portion of the van and had to be convinced that was the reason why we ordered a van taxi. Made me sit in the back. Even though there was a front seat available. I had to leave several belongings behind. Then when I got in the cab the fare was sitting at $26.79. I couldn't argue as he had all my stuff in the cab. Then he took some bizarre route from there to get to the Yellowhead. By the time I arrived in Spruce Grove my fare was $94.67. I will never use coop taxi again. Because when the supervisor called me, they did nothing to right this situation. Told me that I had to pay for the time the cab sat while I loaded up my items. Despite the $10 charge. Despite his wonky route to the Yellowhead. And the fact that it should have only been at most, $70. They're the rudest drivers, depend on Google maps, and you have to put your address in their phones. Unprofessional rip off company. They used to have a great name for quality and customer service. Never ever use this company. I won't. Truly disgusted and dissatisfied.
I called this morning to book a cab at my work at a Hospital after my shift, on my personal cell phone. I told the dispatcher which building I wanted to meet the cab outside of. The dispatcher asked if I was staff, I said I am. She asked if I'm using a voucher, I said I'm not. She then asked me which unit I worked on. When I asked her why, she told me she needed to call my unit to confirm. I find this incredibly inappropriate. First off, it's none of her business which unit I'm working on. I told her I'm staff, I confirmed I would not be using a voucher, I told her where I wanted to be picked up. That should be enough. My colleagues are doing shift change and they're busy. Not to mention it's embarrassing. Frankly, I don't know where this dispatcher gets off. They lost my business today and they will be the last company I call when I need a ride in the future.
I would give a zero if I could. Called loyally for 30 years, even with the bad experiences, but tonight was the last straw. Their phone agent was the rudest person I have EVER spoken to in customer service told my wife to call another cab company when she asked what would happen to extra money if fare was less than deposit first time ever asked for a deposit for the same trip we take every weekand then hung up on my wife twice. Spent 20-150$ a week on coop, Called Yellow cab, on Coop dispatch recommendation, so glad we didthey showed up immediately and were happy to take my money.
I tried to use coop as I booked a trip through their app as it said 30 minute wait. After an hour I called and they said could take up to two hours. I received an automated call and pressed 1 to continue to wait for a ride. Received confirmation that they canceled my request 30 minutes later. I called and they reinstated my ride. Received a call from a driver that they would be there in two minutes. I went down to meet them and saw them drive past. I called back and they said that the driver no showed then they changed it to he waited three minutes. I waited 2.5 hrs and they can’t wait more than 3 minutes. Plus it was a lie. Will never use again!!!!!!
Thank you for your service and treatment of my parents who used Co-op cabs to travel from their home to a restaurant for an early Christmas dinner. Despite the cold weather and slippery conditions, the cab arrived in pretty good time and got them safely there. All of this was arranged from afar as I don’t live in Edmonton and it went off without a hitch. I was so impressed by the service!
The driver was rude and asked me to give him money prior to getting into the cab. He also demanded my drivers license and it was very cold outside so I gave it to him. Once he brought me to my home I asked for it back and he denied me giving it to him, so I now need to report mine stolen/have to get a new one. Then he also charged my credit card twice and I tried to get that dealt with the next day but the customer service was horrible and led to nothing… honestly I don’t normally write reviews but this experience was beyond horrible. Don’t use Co-op/get yourself an Uber instead. At least then people are held accountable.
