I went to this branch to accompany a friend of mine to open a savings account. It should have been a straightforward procedure. We were told that we did not have acceptable documentation to open a saving account. We had every official document acceptable in the entire world. Kyle, the financial adviser, was kind and understanding but it was obvious that they did not care for our business so we gave up, disappointed. That exact day we went to their competition and had no problems. Never in my life have I had such an occurrence at a bank.
They were so nice and patient with us, we asked plenty of questions and still they were answering all of them. Nora and her colleague were so kind and had great customer service.
Overall poor service. Tellers not comfortable with basic banking and refer you to your home branch instead of asking their colleagues for help. Finally when open to asking a colleague for help realize that the issue was very basic and could be dealt with without having the customer referred to their home branch. Was told to go to my home branch to simply activate my debit card which is not the case as she later found out by asking her colleague. The tellers working here require more training not only in banking but also in customer service.
For my wife I am a resident of British Columbia and was instructed/required to call the Montreal Police when the Caisse Desjardins De L'Ouest-de-I'ils refused to allow my elderly father to withdraw his own money from his own account. We were told that in order for my father to do so - the Manager of the branch required that the police become involved the manager felt fraud was involved. Needless to say; this stressed my elderly father to the point he had to be taken straight home, and not being able to engage with police with my relative to resolve this, I engaged the Mtl Police from here in BC. Sound reasonable? It's not ! This all happens after years of me collecting my dad's bills and paying for them from here in BC on my account and at the end of every month he pays me back with a cheque. So, I know they have a history of checks signed by him and sent to me. A few weeks ago, they returned a cheque as "signature irregular". Did I mention he is elderly; his hand isn't as steady as it used to be, but it does match all his cheques they have cashed in the past. I asked what I had to do to resolve this situation and I was told that he would have to come in. Today he went in with a relative that lives in Montreal and asked to make a wire transfer for the original amount of the cheque returned a few weeks ago. It was at this time the manager refused - my dad was with my relative and I was on the phone from BC, the manager refused to talk to me, then refused to do the wire transfer and then refused to give him more than a smaller amount for his day-to-day expenses. He then proceeded to freeze his account due to 'suspicion of fraud'. The Police are now involved and hopefully this will end quickly and with a satisfactory outcome. I have also contacted a lawyer in the area in the event further action must be taken. I would recommend that if you have any substantial funds in this so-called bank, you try and get them out ASAP and into a reputable institution, don't be surprised if you are unable to do so. Not even a star. booked an appointment for my daughter to open an account one and a half month before. On the day, the person was gone on vacation.
Came in to do a simple wire transfer from this branch to my TD branch. I’ve been waiting 15 mins without even an update of what’s taking so long. Everyone just walked away, standing alone at the kiosks.
The service here is very slow. If you want to do a deposit or withdraw in the caisse, it may take you 30 minutes even though it used to be a couple of minutes in other branch. It seems like a branch for the freshman only.
Worst bank ever never returned my 5$ how poor can they even be
