Cineplex Odeon Victoria Cinemas

The new recliner seats are a dream! I'm used to going to Silver City and have avoided the downtown theatres because of parking and the old uncomfortable seating. Definitely swaying me to come see a movie downtown more often, it's almost as comfortable as watching at home with the bonus of a huge screen. I recommend giving them a try if you haven't been since they refurbished the seats.

Love this theater in the heart of downtown. Comfortable reclining chairs. Great picture, great sound. Especially enjoy afternoon movies at this location where it's quite often not so terribly busy.

This is the first bad review I've ever taken the time to write but I felt I should say something so people are aware of their faulty system. I tried to purchase tickets online with my credit card, it said it didn't go through so I tried again. However, it showed it went through both times on my statement. I called them. She mentioned it is a thing that happens with their system and it would go back on my card in a few days. Ok, no big deal but if it is an ongoing issue it needs to be fixed. This resulted in... She then said she could reserve our seats for us no worries and we just had to arrive 30 minutes before the showing to pay. Great... Well we were there 30 minutes before and our seats were in no way reserved and all the good ones filled up. The guy working had no idea why the other employee thought she could do that and was in no way apologetic. When we got our 3D glasses both pairs were very smudged with I am assuming popcorn butter, so THEY DID NOT CLEAN THE GLASSES. I have been to other 3D theatres and the screens were way bigger and 3D much higher quality. Honestly, I wouldn't have taken the time to write this if the manager that was called to speak with us had shown any remorse or acknowledgement of the screw-up which ended up in a lot of wasted time for us and not getting the seats we planned in advance for. Also... the glasses thing is just gross. Not cool.

We tried to attend a movie to see Game Night. After buying our snacks and getting to our seat, it became clear quickly that there was a problem. For whatever reason, the movie would not play. The manager on duty, an older gentlemen, seemed overwhelmed, unqualified and unable to solve the issue or take care of customers. For nearly 45 minutes he came in and out of the theatre, swearing at times and not telling us what was going on. He eventually told us we could just go see other movies, which had already started! They he offered a refund and a pass, which we got, but not without additional headache. No refund for our snacks and ultimately we didn't get to see our movie. The recliner seats were awesome -- just wish we could've watched a movie in them!

Was standing in line waiting to buy tickets and food from the concession, while 3 staff behind the counter were doing their best to keep up with a Sunday Matinee rush, and the old male general manager walks by and says "quickly ladies, quickly". Extremely unimpressed with this comment/treatment of workers, who were already busting it and doing a great job. The seats are better than basic theater seats, but still fall short of Capitol 6, across the street. If I don't have a free pass, I always go to the Capitol 6, and every one else should do the same.
