Chupito

This is a cool little spot tucked away in a back alley behind La Taqueria on Hastings. It can be a little tough to find and not exactly the best alley to walk down, but when you get there, you’ll find a little open backyard-esque barbecue and bar. Be sure to go at a time where it’s not too busy because honestly the food just tastes better when you’re sitting down. Nothing wrong with standing and eating but being able to sit is much better. The drinks are strong, like their pina colada, but they are very tasty. Again, having a seat with drinks versus standing on the gravel ground is way better, especially in the heat. I can honestly say I enjoyed the drinks way more than the food. The food is decent, keep in mind, when they say food can be spicy, it is quite spicy. I can handle my spice but the scallops in green salsa had some kick to it. They’re also very generous on the amount of scallops that you get with the dish. The restaurant is a cool idea, almost like a pop up in a back alley. It’s worth coming to check out at least once.

Have been wanting to visit all summer. Delighted we managed to get in. Had a few Rosetta drinks. Atmosphere is fantastic and a perfect summer hangout spot. Really happy with the food, service and setting.

I was finally able to check out this spot and see what all the"Rave" was about. The "Rave" is real! Other than the 2 dead rats we passed walking up the alley this place had a very hip LA vibe which was great! I much appreciated the wonderful welcome drink. The drink menu definietly has something for everyone and the food options complimented the drink menu perfect. Whether you are there for the food or the drinks.. this is a great spot for friends, lovers and everything in between. Fantastic job well done!

Even though accessible through a seedy backalley, don't let it deter you as that little courtyard is well laid out and had a very enjoyable time sipping on their cocktails soaked with a very tasty crispy taco.

Strongly dislike this restaurant. Went a few months ago. Found hair in two of the dishes we had. The food items from the actual restaurant were also poor quality. The food that's from menu of another restaurants that they serve like paella are good but super tiny portions for the cost. I didn't see any authentic Mexican food on the menu. The drinks were okay, but for the same price it's too easy to find better. I honestly don't recommend the place, unless you go there and only order drinks and food from menu of other restaurants. We ended up getting pizza down the street after our dinning experience. For tacos and Mexican food there are just so many better options, that this one is just not worth it. Honestly I thought I already added my review but noticed it never showed up so retyped it. Maybe it was deleted maybe I forgot.Based on many other customers reviews the experiences with meh and overpriced food are pretty similar.

Ho’ma’frijoles! THE BEST Mexican Restaurant in Vancouver! ~ Authentic Mex food and SO delicious and the drinks ay ay ay SO tasty and strong ~ Aqui no se andan con tonteras! Try everything from the menu of course but the elotes, ceviche, tacos dorados and the “Puebla” mezcal drink ay mamá! mmm-mmm! Ándale, córrele!

We were recommended to this fantastic, cool vibe, Mexican restaurant. Thankfully we were told it's down a "sketchy" alley so we weren't too concerned that we couldn't find it at first. The food was excellent, really tasty and the staff were ever so friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this if you love great food!

Great atmosphere and wonderful staff! The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are incredible. The "Guanajato" has got to be my favourite drink as of yet! I can't wait to try the rest of their menu. Well worth the wait!

A friend heard about this place and we decided to try it. Minus the slightly sketchy way of getting there through Blood Alley this place is AMAZING! First off, the service is exceptional. We got some complementary drinks for waiting for a seat wasn’t even that long! The food is so good too!! Fresh ingredients, amazing taste, knowledgable servers and gave great suggestions for sharing for a table for 3. The highlight of my night was the DRINKS! I chose the customized cocktails based on what type of drinks I usually like. Our server took time to get to know the type of drinks I like and relays to the bartender. And it was honestly one of my favourite drinks I’ve ever had I wish I got the bartender’s name!! Definitely coming back in the near future!

We were a group of 4. We did not like the experience at all. The alley is really dirty and smells really bad. The Hostess was super nice and friendly, but the server was so rude and we literally just saw her once in the 1.5 hr we were there. We never eat because we did not see the server after ordering the first round of drinks. Hostess was around always checking on us, very nice, but still no food since our server completely forgot about us, wich I think was the manager or supervisor A blonde girl, the other server was just taking care of 2 tables, but no the rest of the tables. Another couple that arrived right after us decided to leave after being completely ignore for the 40 min they were there just sitting, waiting for the server too, the table in the middle were completely forgotten as well. Food and drinks sounded nice, but for the price and service it was definetly not worth the super long wait, once we asked the hostess for our bills, she approached the server and we saw her complaining about us asking for the bill, she did notice this and proceed to hide at the back of the food truck while she sent the hostess with the bills and the machine for her to do so. I don't think we will be coming back.
