Located on a busy intersection in a smaller restaurant. The food was alright and they have dishes they specialize in. We enjoyed the soup as it had a strong and satisfying pepper taste. The duck was alright and overall the dishes ate on the milder side in terms of flavour intensity and temperate was warm instead of hot. We enjoyed the oyster pancake also. Service was fine and we were not rushed at all. A good place to relax and talk.
Soy Goose meat was not up to standard only salty you can't taste another herbs inside. Chiu Chou Beef rice noodles can't taste the smell of "Wok" aslo Satay sauce wasn't put enough in the noodles. Very disappointed as I drove all the way from other city to this restaurant waiting to try their Chiu Chou Dishes and I invited a friend with me since there were many good rating here. The waitress there only speak mandarin and wasn't that friendly. I would say : Cold service . Anyway. No next time. I would pay little more find something better in Richmond.
I used eat lots of Chiu Chow cuisine when I was growing up in Hong Kong, but in Greater Vancouver they are very rare. After reading the reviews I have decided to give it a try. I was preparing for the worst, but still hoping to have some good food. I know their restaurant is small, so I decided to arrive early at around 5pm for dinner, luckily I did, because they got busy around 6pm. After I sat down, I did notice some odd smell, smell like old furniture, I shifted my focus on the food, they arrived fairly quickly one of the benefits of having dinner early. The marinated tofu was good, the intestines are just ok. Oyster omelette was awesome, worth every penny, taste like what I had in Hong Kong. The gai lan was good. Chiu chow style noodles was not bad too. I think they are misunderstood, because they are a authentic Chiu chow style Chinese restaurant, but they try to do too much, and serve North American style Chinese food, which they are not good at. They should stick to what they do best, so they don’t disappoint people who are simply looking for good food.
Buyers beware!!! This is one of the worst Southern Chinese you can go to. First of all, half of the tufu they serve is sour, indicating unsafe food storage in the kitchen. Secondly, they got 2 of our dishes wrong even though we called a day in advance. The front counter remembered our conversation but refuse to admit fault. Overall, this restaurant serves rotten food and is way overpriced.
Food was pretty average, place is older and has a weird smell. Lots of local supporters. Tastes were pretty bland. Oyster omelette pretty much the only highlight. Service was friendly and food came fast. Parking is available on the side streets or behind the restaurant.Food: 3/5
Very disappointed! Had stomachache after eating their food. The dishes are expensive and just small serving. The seafood & pineapple fried rice is just tiny shrimp, diced hotpot fish tofu and canned pineapple, which costs $18.95 plus tax. Won’t go there again!
We went around after 6:30pm. Luckily it was not busy and the chef came out for a chat. It was authentic Chiu-Chow cuisine. We went there just to try out their specialty since the chef is from there. We tried fried sweet taro dessert, Beef noodles, etc. It was so good. We would definitely go back again.
IVE HAD BETTER AT THE MALL FOODCOURTS ANYWHERE!!! Ordered on SkipTheDishes. Was missing food from my order. I paid well over $80 total. I’m staying in a hotel for the night. Every other place I’ve ever ordered Chinese food from in the past always gave soy sauce, plum sauce and chopsticks. This place didn’t. I feel like they really cheap for no reason? Also, there was no fortune cookies? I’m confused. Also, do not get me started on the criticism for the food. Read the reviews people!!! I didn’t. And I really wish I did.
special chinese food dinner, authentic and tasty, per head is just $40
Ordered three dishes via Door Dash and waited an hour. At first they didn't acknowledge my order then they said they couldn't adjust the time online. Ultimately the food was mediocre or downright bad the rock cod tofu hot pot. Never going here again and recommend you go elsewhere also.Food: 2/5
