The restaurant has a pretty good selection of rice and noodle dishes. I would say most of them are in the $15 price range. I came in at a busy time, it looks like the owner is also the cashier, server, and the bus person. Pretty commendable being able to handle all the work during the busy lunch time. I wouldn’t mind coming back trying their other dishes, pretty good price point.
Our first time here. The server wasn’t very attentive even though it wasn’t busy at around 2 on a weekday. Our food was good, though, especially the one I ordered braised pork with picked vegetables and rice but they certainly don’t give lots for what we paid. The signature bing or stuffed pancake was disappointing as it was like a minimally-stuffed pita bread that didn’t have enough flavours. I hope I can rate it higher if I go back to try other items on the menu.
Such an underrated place! Extremely authentic Hangzhou food. The pancakes are delicious. Don’t mind the reviews about “weird” meat flavours. This is what it tasted like when I traveled to Hangzhou. Everything is made with so much love and care. Serve is slow because good food takes time. I will agree about take out. This type of food doesn’t taste the best as take out. It’s not the restaurant’s fault. Food like this must be eaten immediately after it is cooked!
Not in this area often but we decided to try Bing & Noodle World. They specialize in Hangzhou food. - Dong-po style thin noodle $14.99 - the homemade thin wheat noodles were disappointing. No bite or chew, clumpy but a massive portion. Broth was weak, lacked depth and complexity. The best thing was the pork belly. - Street fried style vermicelli $15.99 - not much pork but the egg was delicious. The vermicelli had a good wok hei but nothing unique about this dish. Wasn't impressed with B&N World.
The Bing here is awesome and the steamed dumplings have this unique thin multilayer dough skin that is fabulous! Very rustic Chinese tasting food here if that can be a thing. The only downside was the congee I had was too salty. Other than that... I highly recommend the Bing here cuz they do it good! It's like a Chinese version of brick oven thin crust pizza type dough vibes.
If you want to try Chinese home cooking this restaurant is a good place for you. The fried rice noodle taste super good, if you like spicy food you can try to add some spicy sauce on the table. Besides, the restaurant name is “Delicious Cake” which means the pancakes here are highly recommended.
A hot bowl of noodles on a cold day hits the spot. The fried stinky tofu tasted like the one you can buy in Hong Kong and Taiwan, I just wish they serve it with some picked vegetable to help clense the palate after eating so much of it.
Came here looking for noodle soup and it was not bad. The braised beef noodle soup was okay tasting but too salty for me. The cut of beef was tougher than other beef noodle places or maybe a bit overcooked. The beef rice dish was really soupy and just as salty. The preserved veggie pork noodle soup was the best dish of our order. Service was fast but don't come here expecting really good beef noodle soup.
Look at this picture and tell me how thick you think the soup is. Bing and Noodle World's signature hulu noodle looks like vomit in a bowl. There is a lot of starch added to the soup. All the toppings are chopped to the point that I cannot recognize what they are. The noodles are overcooked, kind of matching the texture of the soup. I honestly cannot tell if I am eating the soup or the noodle. The thick soup does a good job at retaining heat. This bowl of noodle burned my mouth multiple times. Perhaps it's a good bowl of noodle during Winter, but I did not enjoy it during my visit. Bing and Noodle World specialize in stuffed pancake, which is the first word of their name "Bing". You would think they should be very confident in their stuffed pancake to call themselves as such. To be complete honest, the stuffed pancake is not bad. They have thin and sturdy crust. The filling thickness are easily 3-5 times thicker than the crust. Perhaps it's the filling I ordered, there is a strong moldy smell to my stuffed pancake. I don't know what to make of it, but I won't be ordering this dish again. You are welcome to go and try the moldy pancake.
Waited 30min for pickup. No server in sight just two cooks in the kitchen and zero attention to waiting customers both for dine-in and pick-up. Totally disorganized. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. And the food was below average aside from being cold from waiting around for so long. Horrible business!
