Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal
Fair Trade Boutique Commerce Equitable
We are excited to welcome Holy Feast to the Boutique, an organisation working with Christian family businesses in and around Bethlehem who produce hand-crafted olive-wood products. It will be a wonderful opportunity to support the dwindling Christian population and to hear first-hand about life in the Holy Land for our Christian brothers and sisters.
Our advocacy focus this time will be learning about and supporting access to healthcare for refugee mothers and babies, as we look at the impact of cuts in services to these groups
The cathedral's share of the proceeds from the Boutique will be donated to Medecins du Monde, who work internationally and here in Montreal to improve healthcare for mothers and babies, marginalized people, refugees and people without homes - true 'Nativity' themes.
Finally, in support of devastated communities in the Philippines, the Boutique will highlighting products made by Ten Thousand Villages partners from the Philippines - representing a tangible and effective way to help this country get back on its feet after Typhoon Haiyan.
The Boutique will also feature many handmade items from all over the world that would make for lovely holiday gift-giving.
Thank you for supporting fair trade!
The Boutique will feature a special section of olive wood products produced by Holy Feast.com - We will be highlighting products made in the Philippines to show our continued care and concern for them following the destruction wrought by the typhoon. A number of nativity scenes as well as countless fair trade gift items from around the world will be made available.
