a beautifully designed building, it is truly an artwork of its own. the architecture is phenomenal, on the inside like on the outside. it's a true jewel to the eyes and such a nice, calming spot to visit. would definitely recommend going there for a change of pace from the city. there is no admission fee, entry is open to everyone!
Beautiful Basilica in the heart of downtown Montreal. This is the seat of the Archdiocese of Montreal. It's an see inspiring Cathedral with lots of historic paintings. The former Bishops of Montreal are all buried here. It is a working Cathedral too so they have services seven days a week. The building is based on St. Peter's in Rome but it has it's own feel. Tickets are not needed.
Visiting Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral offers a serene and reflective experience, allowing you to appreciate the intersection of faith and art. The beauty of the building is something that anyone can appreciate. Whether you’re interested in religious history, or architecture, or simply looking for a peaceful place to spend some time, this cathedral is a must-see.nnIf you are around, I recommend taking the time to visit and experience the astonishing beauty of this remarkable place.
While not a Catholic, I do appreciate and admire the architecture and adornment of cathedrals. It’s a perfect place to take a few moments to pause and reflect.nnI had read the inspiration was from St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome and can see many of the likenesses. Having visited both, I found this to also be quite impressive. Definitely a place I’d recommend to visit if you are in the area.
Gorgeous cathedral, it’s free to visit and literally very cool in the midst of summer, makes for a great respite from the heat. The architecture is very grand and the ceiling is very high, the altar is pretty big and you can walk around behind it to check it out.
