I’ve ordered from this restaurant during the pandemic but it was my first dining experience. We arrived without a reservation and for a Tues evening they were quite busy good sign but they were accommodating and seated us quickly. Every staff we encountered, from the hostess, servers to manager they were all very friendly and helpful. I went with their recommended dish garlic sauce stir fry with beef. Unfortunately it didn’t quite satisfy me for a few reasons. The beef was rather tough and chewy and the sauce had an overpowering black pepper taste to it that I couldn’t enjoy it. Portions are big and so I’d say reasonably priced. Service was a bit on the slow side but they were attentive when we needed something. They forgot our order of calamari so I can’t comment on them. It was nice to see a couple of birthday celebrations happening staff sang happy birthday and brought out a slice of cake.
It was such a treat coming to Chiang Mai for the first time for my husband’s birthday. I recommend making a reservation since it is very popular and gets full fast. The food itself was flavourful and well presented. I was concerned about portion sizes before we came but it was way more food than we could finish. The staff was so attentive throughout our dinner even though the place was very busy. Thank you to our server Ken for the extra birthday treat! Overall, we will be coming back to enjoy their fully halal meat and great Thai flavours!
Deliciousness, packed with flavour. A menu filled with endless options to choose from. A restaurant with beautiful interiors and lots of parking. Finally, a place with lovely, friendy and very welcoming staff. Big shout out to our server, Lara - she was amazing. She asked if it was our first time, provided a great brief of the menu items and gave us ample time to choose what we wanted. We ordered a lot of items, from the Thai calamari for appetizers to the coconut soup to the crispy chili stir fry and the famous paid Thai noodles. We got shrimp for all and an Thai iced tea. Everything was great. I found the tea to be just OK as I prefer the tea at Mo Thai. However, all the food items we had were amazing. The coconut soup was the highlight and simply put - phenomenal. I like that we were able to modify our spice level for each item. The team surprised me with a birthday dessert, which I appreciated. I would definitely come back as there is a lot more items on the menu that I'd like to try. The only comment was that the food did take a little long to come, which was understandable as the restaurant was very busy.
Had the pleasure of eating at Chiang Mai yesterday and the food was amazing! The Calamari was spectacular and the chicken wings were perfectly cooked. We got the Massaman lamb which was very fragrant and creamy we also got the chicken Pad Thai and it was delicious. The main star of our meal however was the chicken Holy Basil, it was hands down the best dish we ordered. Definitely coming back!
My husband and I came here for lunch and got seated in a nice booth. The atmosphere is beautiful, pretty tiled floors, clean, tasteful and modern. Based on others' reviews we knew portions were large but we wanted to try a bunch of things. Calamari, sweet potato fritters, islamic noodles were all great! Basil stir fry was also good but wouldn't reorder as there's so much more on the menu to try. Went home with almost half of every dish we ordered, and were stuffed after lunch! Definitely coming back.
We loved this place and the staffs were amazing! We are big fans of Thai cuisine and this place is number one on my halal Thai restaurant list. We tried their Khao Soy and Thai Basil Rice. The food presentation was amazing. Quantity was adequate and tasted amazing! All the spices were mixed perfectly. The ambience of the restaurant was great too. Definitely recommended and will come back again to try other Thai food.
Perfect!!!! Tasty!!!! Delicious!!!! Yummy!!!! Always Fresh!!!! What not….everything you eat here is the best and the staff is so sweet and friendly. We went for my birthday dinner and when my husband told them about my birthday the server just said she will take care of it and we were like what does she mean?? At the end of our dinner the Staff played Happy Birthday song and they sung it too and got me a dessert and it felt so special and amazing. Thank You Chiang Mai Will keep visiting Keep up the AMAZING work!!!!
One of the best thai restaurants in Toronto area. The Tom yum is excellent! All dishes were freshly prepared and served warm…food presentation and serving size is quite good. They carry halal chicken and the menu choice is decent. Our server Mark took good care of us. Overall, wonderful first time experience.
Booked a reservation for Lunch early in the week for Saturday. The place was very busy upon arrival and we were greeted by a waitress who instead of welcoming us told us right away that "we have no spots available, is the bar okay?" Without asking us if we have a reservation. Otherwise, the food was good and our server was accommodating, portion was large and had enough to take home for a second meal. All the appetizers looked amazing and we got the sweet potato fritters. Will be back to try other menu items
Wanted to try Thai cuisine for a long time. Something different from usual Indian. Booked for SukkoThai and since we could not get any reservations we stumbled upon Chiang Mai. I would thank God we went here. Everything was spot on be it the ambience service food. Enjoyed the experience to the core. the food presentation was too divine. I posted all the pictures of what we ordered and everything was worth trying. Thank you for accommodating us.
