Had an amazing experience for lunch at Maya Bay. Looking for some good Thai flavours and happy to find this joint. Ordered a variety of dishes and each one was better than the next. Also have to try the tipsy milk tea. So flavourful and delicious. The meats were tender and full of flavour. Curry was nicely spiced and good portions. Salted egg fries also a good twist. Overall great taste and great service. Will return again soon
Great food! Great drinks! Great service! The mango slush was really good so I was surprised when the pineapple slush was even better! And I usually don't like pineapple drinks of any type. The crab fried rice was perfect with subtle notes of coconut in the rice to go along with the crab meat and fresh cilantro. The soft shelled crab was probably the biggest one I've ever had! The chili and salt fried pork belly was really good too! Very rich and heavy so not for everyone. Especially if you don't like full chunks of fat from the pork belly. The added egg yolk makes it even more rich but went perfectly with the dish! Would definitely recommend and will be back!
The service for dine in is amazing! Super friendly staff and they are all very knowledgeable about menu options and allergy info. The crispy pork is a drier than I expected, but the fried noodles are flavourful their own! The pineapple smoothie portions are great and very shareable. Would recommend trying their new appetizers too!
Delicious flavours and dishes. They have two menus; the general one and the fancier Iron chef one. The portions are really great especially considering the price and quality of each dish. You can really taste everything and it's Yummy. I recommend this for a nice night out, eating out with friends, snacks or takeout. The Thai flavours cen really be felt.
So so good Thai food. If you ever had that late night Pad Thai craving then you need to come here. I got the shrimp chips, pad Thai Maya, and Crab Fried Rice. Shrimp Chips: great appetizers to start and share. It’s definitely a more elevated shrimp chip from the ones in the Asian grocers. Pad Thai Maya: this one took it home for me. It was so flavorful and delicious. I had a bite of my friends tofu I had chicken and I would’ve preferred the tofu cause it soaked up all the juices from the dish. But overall,a solid dish. Crab fried rice: slightly disappointed as I am a huge fan of soft shell crab. Although the dish was tasty I thought it could’ve had more crab flavor and portion. Perhaps my dish just had a smaller crab this time around? The fried rice was like any other fried rice tbh. An opportunity I would’ve love to recommend is if they can add more crab meat to the fried rice or add more ways to elevate the fried rice to have the crab flavor? Therefore it isn’t just a fried rice + soft shell crab on top. Service was great and staff was so nice and accommodating.
The two items we had were really flavorful and hit the spot. We came after looking for Leng Saab in Toronto and found they had it here. The broth was meaty and flavorful and the tart, spiciness still makes my mouth water even at the time of writing this. The tom yum noodle soup was flavorful and the BBQ pork was nice and crispy some pieces were a little tough/hard though. The tables were a little sticky and the place a bit rundown but the service was good. I would go back even if it's for take out and recommend it!
Walked by this local spot enough times to finally give it a try! The atmosphere from outside looking in, alongside the Cabbagetown street scape made it seem straight out of a Gilmore Girls scene. The food inside did not disappoint! My bf and I both ordered the Pad Thai and finished every last bite. The seating makes it possible to people watch as you enjoy your meal. Aside from slower service to start, this spot is a must-try if you’re craving Thai and are passing through the area.
Pad Thai Maya with crispy pork was delicious! Went with a friend who ordered the same dish but with shrimp and we were both very impressed with the taste, as well as the portion sizes. Also ordered Tempura Shrimp and Vegetable Spring Rolls for appetizers. The dipping sauces were really unique and good too! This place is definitely a new favourite dinner spot for us!
Everything was delicious but the soft shell crab on rice was a standout. I don’t know what the sauce is on the side but it is amazing! The spicy pork bone soup is a must as well. I could see this going down very nicely in the cold Toronto winters. We had medium spice level on all our dishes and it hit just right. Heat on the tongue but no sweat on the brows.
A great little restaurant for your Thai food cravings. They offer delicious authentic dishes that are full of flavour and fun drinks to try. Decor is fairly well thought out, however the seating is somewhat limited. Wait staff were very nice and welcoming! The pad kee mao was prepared well and not spicy, just a little kick. The soft shell crab with fried rice was really good! A whole crab is given to you, which is rare. Would recommend to friends for a great start of a fun night out!
