Chez Ashton

This is a popular burger spot in the Quebec City area that we discovered last year. The Ashton burger is delicious for a fast food type of burger; there’s something about the seasoning! I can’t speak to any of the other items on the menu but the locations we have seen always look quite busy so I can imagine that the other options are quite good too. Hopefully one day the chain will make it’s way west towards Montreal and maybe into Ontario but for now, it’s only a Quebec City find!

Ashton in Quebec City was disappointing. The poutine was extremely ordinary—definitely not worth the hype. The fries and gravy were fine, fries were crispy, but the cheese curds had an odd, almost cardboard-like taste, which was very unusual. I was told it was worth a detour, but honestly, it wasn’t. Wouldn’t return. At least the restroom was clean.

I tried Ashton for the first time and went there with friends on a road trip to Quebec city. I had heard great things about this place. Double Ashton burger was good and the poutine wasnt great. It lacked gravy and had been hyped to be good but I was disappointed as I had expected better. Especially for 25$ with no soft drink. I still enjoyed the experience but would unlikely return. Great service at the counter.

Had our first Ashton! Was told by a montrealer that Ashton has the best poutine. We don’t have one here, so we got a sampler of everything while on the road. The poutine was indeed good, love the squeeze cheese! Enjoyed the burger and the beef sandwich as well, just we found the bread was too “bready”, otherwise it was enjoyable. A good first Ashton expérience!
