We came for lunch on a whim during prime lunch hour on a weekend in summer... it was busy, to say the least. We were told it would be about a 40 minute wait when we got there but it was closer to 20. The server was very knowledgeable. They had their normal menu and pizza menu available. We opted for regular. The food was good, and came out quickly. Service was a bit slow at times, but more than forgivable give how busy that patio was. It was a nice touch to have Muskoka chairs available for those on the wait list you could order drinks too. Overall, well worth a visit
Believe me when I say this food is next level pub food. It’s so amazing, if I could give it 10 stars out of 5 I would. Atmosphere is so fun, staff is wildly friendly, food is AMAZING!!!! I highly HIGHLY recommend eating here. I got the hot beef and yorkie, might be the best meal I’ve ever had. Also my brother got the fish and it was massive. 2 giant pieces of fish and fries, this is a great place to checkout.
This is a phenomenal local pub with a great deal of heart. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and this is my sister and her fellow's favorite place to spend an evening with great food, great beer selection, and sometimes lovely live music. I am so glad she brought me here years ago and continues to bring me back. It's her favorite place. Also the savoury pies they sell to bring home are a great treat. I had a local cider from iron prior and a lovely poutine with a bacon cheeseburger and my sister and her guy had the delicious smoked pork tacos that were there for "Taco and Tunes" Tuesday. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
This spot is next level good and definitely a local gem. The atmosphere and decor inside is incredible, and their patio in the summer months is equally charming. The staff is also really friendly and attentive; definitely plus a big part in why I love the Cheshire Cat. As for the food: unreal. On a cold winter’s day, you NEED the Hot Beef and Yorkie; it’s like a big, warm hug. Big portion sizes make the prices reasonable, and the pub has a great selection of craft beers as well. Overall an amazing spot!
Excellent time at the Cheshire Cat Pub! We walked in without reservation and had wonderful service. Our server took the time to explain a bit of the history of the pub and to highlight the most popular options on the menu. When I couldn’t decide on the beer, he brought me four samples to try. The food was fantastic - large portions and really tasty. The place itself is cozy and has lots of character. Definitely worth the drive!
A lovely lunch out at The Cheshire Cat Pub today. First time dining here and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the cheddar bacon soup and my son had the "mad hatter sandwich". We each enjoyed a craft beer on the outdoor patio, and although it was a bit breezy, I was fine with use of one of the pub's deck blankets. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service! We will be back :
Excellent dinning area. We had the Hot Beef/Yorkie and the Fun Guy Burger. The Yorkie is probably the largest meal on the menue. Both tasted excellent. The restaurant has a nice atmospheric vibe. Server was very nice. We were given some free beer sample for no reasons :
Loved this place! Super friendly staff, accommodating and helpful. Fair priced and delicious food, many, MANY beers on tap. The building itself is very nice and definitely gives the illusion of being elsewhere. Seating can get a little cramped, but it's to be expected when this place is just so good, obviously it will draw a large crowd. Would recommend if you are anywhere even remotely close to Carp.
This place is so cute, it was my first time here. I came on a Tuesday night and it was still a little busy, so I’d highly recommend getting reservations. The food was amazing, fish and chips was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. By far, one of the best pubs in ottawa, I’d highly recommend!
If you're not from Ottawa, this is THE place to be. If you're from Ottawa, this is ALSO THE place to be! The amazingly delicious comfort food of British variety, wide array of rotating beer, cozy inside ambiance, beautiful outdoor patio, and their events, are all on point. And you know what? Their social media and sign are on point - the humour is just always nailing it. They also sell an assortment of local frozen goods to go and beer to go. If you want to support local businesses and always have a good time, go here. As a beer nerd, their Untappd presence is extremely competitive in Ottawa rivalling Bar Lupulus, and a few others meaning a visit is worthwhile just for a brew. Seeing that the place is in the countryside, be prepared for a semi-distant drive/Uber/taxi.
