One of the finest Indian restaurants in Scarborough. Loved the food and quality. The service was quick and food was really tasty with perfect amount of spices. The only thing bothers was the quantity the serves as compared to prices as it should be a little more in appetizers as you can see in fish pakora. Overall perfect place and perfect food.
It's always good food here in Charminar. Good: Ambiance is good Food is tasty and service is good as well Can be better: Ambiance is good but can be better. Waiting time is a bit more sometimes , as they are super busy. Overall all good here .
The Goat Dum Biryani was on point - authentic and very delicious. The Amritsari fish pakoras were just perfect and a great start to the meal. Just taking away the one star for the slower than normal service as our server went missing halfway through the meal and we had to call down another one for the remainder of our time there. Barring this minor inconvenience, a super casual/chill time with authentic Hyderabadi food.
Good tasty Indian food. Tried panner Tikka not to the NJ taste, Malai koftagood, vegetable mix curry good, naanokayish and biryani good..prices are reasonable...would definitely visit again to try more dishes.
Yummm! Delicious food and fairly authentic tasting. The spices are on point! The staff is not the most attentive one and they do seem to forget about you once they bring your food over.
Before I am writing down the review, I want to mention one very important thing for the owner or who is going to read this review from restaurant side. please do not place packed drinking water bottle without asking customer permission, I thought it was placed as a complementary service even I have not opened when I visited the place. I know it's not costly, but you are including that which is not ordered by customer. If you're doing the same thing with everyone you are getting $2 per each table for no reason. now let's talk about food taste food test was fine no complain at all just a slow service I'm not sure for what reason maybe understaff or what, I'm not complaining that at all as far as I got a good taste. I feel bad for the guy who was serving me I was not able to give him a tip because you guys already included 14% gratuity in a final amount of bill. Overall experience what's good!!!
Visited the restaurant today. Food was really good, nice presentation of the food. The environment in the restaurant was amazing. The reason behind me giving 3 stars is because I was not satisfied with the customer service provided by the front girl. Firstly she missed some of things to punch in the order and we got the food and we had to wait until our food was almost finished when we got our salad and yogurt. Overall I would say i recommend the restaurant as the food was great.
BEST BIRYANI ONLY AT CHARMiNAR SCARBOROUGH!! All my stars go for the biryanis in the house. We always come here for biryani, the rest of the food is above average. I have not eaten a better biryani than what this place serves. Its flavourful, basmati rice, good quantity, and authentic biryani smell. Favs: Hyderabadi Veg dum Biryani Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani Hyderabadi Goat dum biryani I suggest not to go for family packs. Better order single portion biryanis. We have tried other locations but only Scarborough location is the best for biryanis.
Lassi - 3/5 Decent. A little too much water. Kadhai Chicken - 2.5/5 Taste was good but the chicken pieces were too soggy/moist. Naan - 4/5 Not bad. Overall the rating of this restaurant is too deceiving.
Basically: order their biryanis, you won't be disappointed, they're all soooo good!! Rest is average. We usually order the ghee dosa, chicken 65 biryani, and chole bhatura. Never dined-in, always to-go. Dosa: Crispy, light, tasty. Sambhar is also tasty. But no potato filling comes with the dosa, that's an extra charge. The chutneys are horrible. Firstly, there is no coconut or red chutney that you usually get. There's this very weird tasting creamy peanut chutney and some other weird tasting orange chutney. Very bad! Chole Bhature: The chole are itself are soft and cooked well. They look rich in flavour BUT the taste is only cardamon. Every bite you feel like you're eating a spoon full of cardamom. Too overpowering. The bhature are not your usual round bhature. They're almost like swollen papdi see pic for reference , taste is good though not rubbery. Chicken 65 biryani: The only item with no complaints. Great flavours, large quantity, soft chicken, well cooked rice. UPDATE: Went into dine-in. Expect a wait of 20-30 mins on busy days. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful. The chicken 65 dosa was awesome. The mixed veg uthappam was a bit dry but still tasty. The Hyderabadi dum biryani was great!!!
