Champlain OB/GYN

Used to be a patient here but switched to Maitri due to their unfriendly front office. I was also turned off by their skin treatments and advertisement of those services there - just felt very anti body positivity for an ob/gyn office.

As much as I hate going to an OBGYN, I felt at ease with Dr Maria G. Carracin. She was listening to my concerns and explained every step of the process. I appreciated the fact that they still took my appointment as a new resident and patient. I will definitely recommend it.nnCon: Reception service was not very friendly as I got no answer back for what I asked and waited 30 min after my appointment, because I was told to wait for something..turned out it was nothing, just the receptionist was confused

I should have listened to the Google reviews, but got a few recs for this office so I made an appointment anyway despite my initial reservations. Wish I hadn't! I had to reschedule a few days ahead of my appointment and was assured multiple times on the phone that this would be no problem their stated policy is to charge a no-show fee for cancellations within 1 business day, so I checked really carefully to make sure this wouldn't count as within 1 business day, and they assured me it would not. A month later I received a $100 no-show fee bill. Called the office and they insisted that Maria Carracino the doctor I was supposed to see signed off on this so there's nothing anyone can do. So despite being ultra careful when rescheduling, and asking them to confirm that there would be no fee, I wound up with this charge. Super shady business practices, and I'm now out $100 despite never having actually seen a doctor there which I obviously won't now because I don't want to risk more unexpected charges in the future. When I brought this up in a local parenting group, THREE other moms told me they had the same experience at this office. Steer clear! BTW - I called 3 separate times just triple-checking that the next appointment I had scheduled was canceled, so that they wouldn't charge me another no-show, and the first TWO times the receptionist I spoke with told me they hadn't yet canceled it despite me asking! I guess they just wanted to charge me again...

I have been coming here for about five years now and have met almost all of the OBGYN's and midwives. They are all very knowledgeable and I have been nothing but impressed with them ever since I switched. After being with them for the birth of my first child I fully trust them with the birth of my second. The other associates are always very professional and pleasant to deal with as well. Highly recommend!

The administration of this place is terrible. They took about two weeks to send my medical records to my new OBGYN. After insisting for about two weeks, the Champlain representative told me that I needed to sign a document to release my records, which could have been requested from the beginning. I understand that there is a pandemic happening that can cause a delay of 3 -5 days, but the delay of 15 days to be able to transfer a simple document is unacceptable especially considering that I only had two appointments in this establishment. Due to this delay, I could not make an appointment with my new OBGYN and I could not know the status of my baby. I leave this OBGYN extremely disappointed.
