Really like the concept of this restaurant! The owner is very down to earth and therefore provides an amazing service. We stopped here on our way from Ottawa to Burlington for Chai. They make fresh chai on gas with fresh ingredients!!! There is no machine chai or coffee. They do not serve any Coffee at the time of this review. We also tried their masala lemonade with soda which was really good as well. They have lots of interesting items to eat which we didn't get to try. They have 2 entrances pls see pics below for side entrance. They also have ample parking spots available. Unfortunately, they do not have handicapped accessible entry and also their washrooms are downstairs. We will definitely be back here for more options. Vegetarian options: They have lots of vegetarian options available. You can also customize the items on the menu since they are very flexible. Dietary restrictions: You can provide any instructions based on your preference and they can customize their items as per your dietary requirements/restrictions. Parking: They have lots of parking available. The Public parking lot next to them may say it's paid but it's free for 1 hr for their customers. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid-friendly. Didn't see any high chairs but they have many items on the menu that kids would love. Wheelchair accessibility: They do not have wheelchair accessible entrances or washrooms.
What a nice surprise! Please support this new business in the ‘hood: Chai Talks! Didn’t know what to expect — thought it would be a cafe of sorts — and it is, but they have a full Indian food menu, too. I got the samosa bowl and it was TRULY DELICIOUS… basically two fresh samosas covered in an amazing bunch of sweet and spicy goodness and sauce, including chick peas and pomegranate. They also do traditional chai tea with lots of customization options you pick three spices… call it a spiritual successor to Carlington Coffee House’s traditional chai days. They’ve only been here a few months across from the hospital on the hill, to the west, and the owner Kavish was friendly and would love to meet you. Definitely recommend! Open on weekends, too.
I tried chai and kesar pistachio lassi. The lassi was really good and really loved it. The chai was ok. I ordered chai with ginger, cardamom and cinnamon. The tea felt little watery and when I spoke with the employee there, he said if we want chai with extra milk portion it’s possible to do that too. Just make sure to tell him early itself. I like that he communicated it to us and took the feedback in a good way. One problem I faced here was to find the entrance and parking. Ultimately I parked in the apartment 1081 carling apartment which takes 3.5 cad for half an hour. But apparently, the employee said we can park in the apartment parking up-to an hour without paying if you are going chai talks.
Free Wifi, not too dirty. Portions are small and expensive, veg in dish was starting to go bad. Good amount of chicken, heat spice level was good.Food: 3/5
Hidden little gem! Stopped in to check it out after a doctor's appointment & wasn't disappointed. Got paneer pakoras which didn't last for a picture, that good! & the cutlet chaat which blew my mind ! The flavors are amazing & mouth water. Can't wait to try more things & some of there chai flavors! Very happy & friendly staff as well! Vegetarian options: A ton of vegetarian options and all seemed delicious!
Nice place for good/bad talks.. loved the food and service. Only if something can be done for parking like restaurants having their own parking that would be great!!Food: 5/5
They have undoubtedly improved a ton. I stopped visiting after bad Chai experiences in the past, but now the recipe and chai are on point. Try any of their teas; you will enjoy it too. You don't have to pay for parking. And you can enjoy table Ludos while sipping tea. ;Food: 5/5
waited 40 minutes for food items that just had to be heated up. samosa and pakora. The samosa had no spices inside at all, just white potato and a few peas. One of the sauces was put in the bag open, and got all over everything except for the unseasoned food. Stains on the outside of the bag got grease and food on my clothes from carrying it. The place was not busy. I was the only customer for about 20 minutes. Something is wrong with their process. I am suspicious of these 5-star reviews.
Really enjoyed coming here to play a few rounds of snakes and ladders and enjoy some fresh made food by some friendly people.Food: 5/5
You can see your chai making process and customize your ingredients. Awesome, dudh patti, samosa, and Paneer pakoda in Ottawa.....Food: 5/5
