I’m a bit torn on this place. Great beer selection, but the food is rather underwhelming. I’ve been twice. The bbq sandwich was just ok.. needs more sauce but wasn’t terrible. The fries are nothing to write home about. The chicken Caesar sandwich on my second trip was just not good. The chicken was over cooked and there was a tiny tiny amount of ceaser on the bottom bun. I’m not sure why the kitchen is so stingy with the sauces but that’s literally where all the flavor is here so make sure the ask for extra sauce on the side. But the mac and cheese, I’m not gonna lie, that’s where this place shines. If you are going to go, definitely order it. It’s very good. A few pics for reference. Edit to add: the first time I went I was seated outside. Our waitress came twice and was not very friendly. The second time, I was seated inside and our waiter was a man. He was wearing a Chicago shirt and I wish I could remember his name but he was so so kind and incredibly friendly. He really went above and beyond making sure we were taken care of. So the service is hit or miss too. If I go back I’ll make sure to sit inside.
It's a River North gem. The staff is friendly and have a witty sense of humor. They specialized in delicious comfort food and their drinks are always on point!
Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Nice location Downtown Chicago, good ambience, pretty good food, and nice selection of craft beers. Nothing extraordinary.Food: 4/5
First time dining here! Brunch was delicious I loved the mimosas deal! Food was extremely delicious especially the brisket nachos and the gyro!!!! Took my puppy Rocky along with me. Amazing service!Dine in: Yes
Centennial is the best place for craft beer in River North. They have a great selection of beer on tap. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive.
First time here! Wide variety of beer and great complimenting food to match. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. My buddy got the pesto flatbread
We visited from the UK as my wife was running the marathon. This place quickly became our 'local' as the staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable on their beers! Great selection of craft ales and the owner and bar staff all had time to chat to you. All in all an excellent experience. Mac and cheese was on point!
Centennial has long been our go-to weekend spot for great beer, excellent pub fare, and great conversation. The beer selection is routinely one of the best in the city, a craft beer connoisseur haven. Miss out on those weekly Hop Butcher or Phase Three cans? No fear, you can always try them here, along with dozens of other great offerings, from the hazies to both ends of the spectrum. Foodwise, you likely won't do better when it comes to "elevated pub fare" than Centennial - their mac and cheese is one of the absolute best in the city, as are the brussels and pretzel. You really can't go wrong with anything you choose from the ever-evolving menu. Lastly, when it comes to conversation, Centennial provides a welcoming atmosphere where guests always feel comfortable talking to each other on the patio, or carrying on with staff. We were lucky to meet one of our best friends on said patio, and have had great convos with many others during our many visits. If Tony is serving he usually is do yourself a favor and strike up a convo. He's as knowledgeable about food, beer, and the Chicago scene as he is friendly and charismatic, truly making each experience a joy.
Nice bar with good selection of beer. The staff are attentive. My only criticism is that for most beers, there is only one size. Even if you like something, you don't necessarily only want to drink that with so much else to choose from.Food: 3/5
They have lots of beers and ciders. Not the most exotic, but enough to cover any taste. Food is good, ambience is great, and service is awesome. No dessert though. You CAN have a vanilla porter if that rings your bells, but if they had a good brownie I'd have to rate it 6 stars.
