This place is what I call local fine dining! Me and my wife dropped in for a date night dinner. The restaurant is located on a busy part of Bloor, relatively close to the TTC station. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by waitstaff that took our coats and hung them for us, and then to our booth in the back - arguably the best seat in the house! It was small enough to be close and intimate, but large enough to crowd the table with dinnerware and glasses. Throughout our visit, we were very well tended to - the waitstaff promptly took away our finished plates, changed our dirty silverware, filled out glasses with water, asked if we wanted a refill on alcoholic drinks - you name it, and we probably would have got it. It was St Paddy's Day and throughout the visit they gave us cookies and an alcohol dessert, and both were appreciated so much! The dessert shot was literally dessert for us, despite them having two desserts on offer. The food was to die for. I had the lamb, my wife had the mushroom gnocchi. The lamb was spicy I was warned before I ordered, but it wasn't overbearing as if it was doused in Thai chilis. It was a spice spicy, not a heat spicy - and being a heat spicy lover, I found it enjoyable and a change of pace. The lamb was cooked perfectly and came out buttery but with a chewiness to it. My preference to swap out couscous for more vegetables was accommodated, and they certainly didn't skimp on the vegetables! My wife's gnocchi was amazing - the gnocchi was soft and chewy without losing its form. The sauce was rich and creamy. The chicken was tender and moist. Mushrooms and parmesan were abundant and plentiful, and the cheese had a crust of some kind that made the dish much more enjoyable. For the value of price, I will be the first to admit, it is priced higher than your traditional fare. But I argue: the amount of support the waitstaff give you, the quality and taste of the food, the atmosphere and ambience - it is SO WORTH IT. You are supporting a local restaurant that understands your needs, and that is worth it to me. For a fine dining night out, this is a great place. And also. I had the Old Fashion. This place makes the BEST Old Fashion I have had yet. All in all, 10/10 dinner, will come back again! Parking: Street parking is limited to either side of Bloor Street. It is paid parking up until 4pm, and then between 6pm and 9pm. No parking between 4 and 6pm due to rush hour. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is ground level with a few bumps to get in. The doors thankfully lock in the open position if needed to assist, but honestly the waitstaff is so good here they will probably see you before you see them and they'll help you in Dietary restrictions: Food here is made to order. All requests will go to the chef and the waitstaff will come back to let you know if it can be done or not. I overheard another table make a request as well as mine and both were accommodated. Take a look at the menu posted online before going to ensure you'll have something you can eat!
My wife discovered this restaurant two days ago. Had a wonderful meal experience with my wife an daughter this evening. Amazing service, Amazing and very creative menu, extremely well presented and delicious. Thin Crispy zucchini, lobster medallions , a couple of salads, a risotto to die for and decadent s’more cheese cake. Great wine paring. Outstanding and attentive staff and reasonable prices. Unanimous High praises.
This restaurant is an amazing new addition to BWV. Food and service was incredible. Highly recommend the chorizo pasta and the filet. The smoked cheesecake was also wonderful. The place itself is just beautiful…great ambiance. Will go here again for sure!
Outstanding smoked chicken gnocchi’d it out of the park! Enjoyed the lovely ambiance, delicious salad, wine, and a decadent cheesecake to top off the perfect meal. Will definitely return!
We were celebrating a birthday and want it to try new place at BWV. Food was very good, 3 girls working there were engaging, super friendly and they were amazing in providing superb customer service. Bravo and welcome to the neighborhood Cellar and Smoke!
Excellent relaxed service, tasty food, good portion sizes and a good selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Definitely worth returning. Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my gluten-free diet by just tweaking a dish and without any fuss.
Started out strong with the smoked olives. Finished strong with the cheesecake. Great addition to the neighbourhood
