Story

The Cedars Floating Restaurant is Idaho's premier floating restaurant, featuring our Signature Slow-Roasted Prime Rib. We take pride in serving Northwest sourced RR Ranch and St Helens beef.

We have a beautiful fresh salad bar that we offer with every entree.

Our Cedar Planked Salmon is one also one of our Signature Items.



"Founded in 1965, Cedars Floating Restaurant is Idaho's premier floating restaurant, featuring the freshest fish available daily and Midwest and locally sourced Choice Beef. Cedars floats at the confluence of Lake Coeur d'Alene and the Spokane River and is renown for providing quality food and service. Our 18 foot salad bar is stocked with the freshest vegetables, fruits and variety of items. Buoyed by 600,000 pounds of concrete encased styrofoam, Cedars is the perfect setting to take in breathtaking views and enjoy Northwest delicacies such as Cedar Plank Salmon and a Biergarten Filet. Great table with amazing lake views made the wonderful service and cocktails memorable before supper. Tremendous salad bar! Great Prime Rib value here. We also enjoyed a robust Shrimp Scampi meal leaving us very full & delighted. Left pleased after desert & fresh coffee.Food: 4/5
This is an Amazing restaurant! Ive heard greats things and was happy to finally dine here! We split an order of the scallops and salmon ! Both were delicious and the scallops I would 100% get again! They are cooked perfectly! We had great service and an amazing view of the lake.
Last night, my wife and I attended Cedars Floating Restaurant for the second time together. Both of our times there together were nothing short of amazing. Last night more like afternoon, we arrived about thirty minutes before our scheduled reservation so we could have a drink in the bar. It was nice because we were able to look out and see all the activity on the water during the busy Fourth of July weekend. I ordered a berry colada and my wife had a huckleberry daiquiri. Once seated, I ordered the 14oz Prime Rib and my better half got the Center Cut 8oz Sirloin with a side of peppercorn sauce. After we ordered, we worked our way up to their world famous salad bar. We scarfed down the salads and then our meal arrived. As expected, both plates were delicious and filling. I highly recommend ordering the baked potato with all the fixings as your side. You won’t regret it! If you have the chance to eat at Cedar’s, you won’t be disappointed. Great staff, awesome views, and delicious food! 5 stars!
Excellent food excellent service and excellent restaurant. My new favorite restaurant. Highly recommend it. Had steak and lobster and it was prepared perfectly and the creme brulee was delicious. My sister had the mini mud pie and said it was the best she's ever had. Even the salad bar had great choices.
The Cedars Floating Restaurant provides a unique transformative eating experience, where diners can bird and boat watch while enjoying some of the Northwest’s finest seafood and beverages. Service is friendly and efficient. The salad bar is loaded with a freshly cut vegetables and an array of tasty dressings, and the New England clam chowder is thick and creamy. It’s a place where memories are made, whether your wearing flannel or Chanel - you’ll love it.
Nice place to visit. Try to get a nice spot with a good view. Tried their Garlic Rosemary Chicken Alfredo, it was very good, one of the better ones compare to other restaurants. Prices and environment is similar to Beverly’s in CDA resort, I prefer Beverly’s more but my wife prefers Cedars. That’s how similar they are. Would visit it again.
The view, staff, and food were all great. I loved that the menu was digital to view but then still had the waitress responsible for orders/service, this was a nice touch. I thought the prime rib was on point, it was excellent! The jalapeño bread pudding was already very tasty, and captured the taste of the jalapeño without bringing a lot of heat.
We are lifetime residents of CDA and Cedars has always been one of our local favorites! We can honestly say that we’ve never had a bad meal and the service has always been exceptional. I highly recommend their clam chowder-its fantastic! Hearty and full of clams, they don’t skimp on the good stuff! Other favorites are the Salmon, Prime Rib and the Halibut. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, out for a date night or just want a great meal with a gorgeous view, Cedars is your spot. I’ve included pictures of my meal for your viewing pleasure: The prime rib was perfectly cooked the way I love it. I tried the Guava Margarita and oh my! It’s my new fav! Aimee took care of us and she was exceptional. Such a sweet person-all smiles and happy to help with whatever we needed.
The salad bar is fantastic! Their ranch dressing is very flavorful. I would have to say their fettuccine alfredo with chicken is the best I've ever had. For dessert the mud pie ice cream was a winner! You can't beat the view! I enjoy eating overlooking the water any time I'm in town. They were busy. I recommend calling ahead or making a reservation in advance.
This was such a wonderful experience! Amy our waitress, who was VERY ATTENTIVE to ALL 7 of us & our needs. Especially to my brother & his wife, who were here from Chicago. They also are in the "FOOD SERVICE" business. They were so impressed!! They have a" FUN SIGNATURE" thing they do when out with family or friends in Chicago or when travelling, ordering EVERY DESSERT on the menu !! We ALL grabbed our spoons passing the desserts to share. Each staff member, that I came across, saying "HELLO", with a genuine smile. ALso meeting a new friend, MR.BASS, the fish!! Lynnette, our host, took the time to come out & meet my family, when they were so busy. I highly recommend *** CEDARS FLOATING RESTAURANT *** for atmosphere, view & of course the food, for ANY occasion !!! It was OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU for making my family feel so welcomed, making their experiences as well as yours a FUN afternoon.
