We arrived to Vancouver and first meal was at this restaurant, note that we are also a guest of their hotel. Waitress was polite and informative and give good suggestions. Dinning experience was great, food quality is good. We have also had breakfast here most days while the stay, which was included in our package. Service was a bit slow for breakfast, they get overwhelmed. On average, main dish comes out around 30mins. Could improve, we understand that dish is custom made and breakfast menu is wonderful though. Keep up the good work!
We had heard about this restaurant from friends and happy to check it out. This is actually a 4.5 star review based on our amazing server and we left the ordering in her capable hands. Highlights include a fried potato and cheese deliciousness I forgot what it was called that had a salty crunchy heavenly taste that worked so well with my cocktail. The house made pastas an in house made ricotta were also delicious! Yum!
This was an absolute perfect dining experience. This was our first time dining here and the staff made us feel so welcomed and explained the menu perfectly. Our server Alex was phenomenal and made a perfect wine suggestion for our meal. We were seeing a concert afterwards and he made sure that we got out in plenty of time. Cocktails were excellent and the food was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Fai Tu experience family style custom tasting menu was great for six people. We got a wide variety of dishes, probably got to try 12+ dishes, including desserts wish I had got pictures of them all! Our server did a great job of gathering information before the meal, such as any allergies and preferences, but also asked things like how adventurous the diners are, if we wanted lighter or heavier fare like fish and veg vs meat and potatoes, thus curating a meal that was tailored perfectly to the group's preferences. Cocktails are also creative and tasty.
AMAZING. Possibly the best dining experience of my life. Service was FANTASTIC - the whole team did not miss a beat. Luigi was an INCREDIBLE bartender who customized the experience with some valuable insights for a bar-savvy group. Every need was anticipated. No wonder they're now a Michelin restaurant!Food: 5/5
We celebrated a friends birthday in the private room here last night. Despite being a large group, the service was impeccable and everything on the set menu was delicious. They even bent over backwards to help us set up everything before hand. A top-notch crew with top-notch food; I will definitely be coming back here often.
Stopped here for breakfast one morning. Staff were friendly and attentive, offered some advice about the city and places to go / things to see. The Salmon Eggs Benny was great, some of the best I’ve ever had. The potatoes were a little salty for my taste, but still pretty good. Espresso was up to snuff and the environment was modern. Overall good experience. Would go again.
Love it. Northern Italian food cooked to perfection. The space was once Miantiao but now Carlino has moved in. A few, well-made updates to the ambiance. The food was delicious; from flavours, temperature, texture, and unity of the dishes. Good portion sizes and presentation. You can definitely taste the freshness and the care that goes into each dish. We had the pleasure of Iranna apologies if I spelt that wrong guiding us through the night. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They worked together to make our experience flawless. I am having trouble finding some of the items I tried on the online menus. Seems like the online menus are slightly different compared to the ones in the restaurant. Overall my experience was wonderful. I look forward to coming back very soon
Their tasting menu will feed you good. The server asked us for our preferences and catered the menu to that. It was unique because at many restaurants, their tasting menu is already set. The server warned us that we don't have to finish all of the starters, but we couldn't resist. Started with some bread and nice olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We loved the classic start. Then, the olives with roasted garlic. Foie gras, jam and bread. It was so smooth and fresh. Zucchini salad. Nice to taste the simple flavors of ingredients. Pastas were fantastic. It was the only time that I could really taste the squid ink. We'll definitely come back.
Stayed at Shangri-La and decided to try Carlino- my husband an I tried the Fai Tu experience and are so happy we did. The menu was diverse and our waitress who was incredible helped explain the menu based on our preferences. The fried scallops are to die for. We loved everything we ate and would recommend Carlino to anyway visiting Vancouver! We also had the complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel which was just as delicious.
