Bacaro

I shared a fantastic meal with a friend last night at Bacaro. From the service to the food, it was delightful. I especially enjoyed the sbocciare - not a style of pasta I'd ever tried before! If I had to choose something to change, I personally felt that a tiny sprinkling of salt would have elevated the flavours in the caprese salad, but that's an opinion.

Delicious food! Elegant ambient. Amazing services. We loved dining here. Well deserved 5 stars.

Bacaro is located on the main floor of Fairmont Pacific, right by the lobby bar. Easy to locate, and plenty of street parking around. Ambiance was nice, however the food was underwhelming at best. My 2 stars are for hospitality of the servers. - Chicken Liver Crostini Crostini itself was basically a thin cracker, however the liver mousse was a good balance of creamy and rich without leaving a greasy aftertaste. Rating 3/5 - Polpette Di Funghi Mushroom and ricotta meatballs were average, the aioli was decent - tasted better with the manzo given how dry it was. Rating 2/5 - Risotto Bianco The presentation as you can see from the photo looks unappetizing, it was equally unappetizing to taste. Heavy handed Gorgonzola, faint hints of truffle. The balsamic drizzle on top wasn’t enough to save the dish. Rating 1/5 - Manzo Taste and presentation were both lackluster. To put it simply, its a few pieces of beef and onion grilled together and presented alongside green salad. The meat was dry and its not served with any sauce. The hostess brought out some olive oil and balsamic vinegar to compensate. Rating 1/5 They have an extensive wine list, my recommendation is to go here for the wine and preferably skip the food.

Really lovely pasta dishes that are way more filling than they look. The little donuts with lemon were delicious too. Only weird thing is the s&m style meat locker in the middle of the restaurant.Food: 5/5

Great experience! Our server made excellent recommendations on the menu. Fantastic pasta! We were also very pleased that when we asked for a comfy seat for my very pregnant wife, they were able to accommodate. Classy without feeling pretentious at all, it felt like more of a "home cooking" type of restaurant. Would recommend.

Nice spot for a wine and good food. The entries are nice, like tapas. Small portions and tasting good. Pastas are also good and the portions are small as well. Wine in glass comes perfect because of the winematic enomatic.

Very lovely dining experience. Came on a Wednesday night and sat at the bar. Had a wonderful chat with Chef Scott about his menu contents and philosophy. Food presentation was pretty and fun. Excellent ingredients meticulously prepared made for an exceptional set of courses. Can't wait to come back.Food: 5/5

Whoa! Their Braised & Grilled Wagyu Beef was so tender and rich! It was total bliss in your mouth! They can really cook meat :

Although nominally in the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, this is a casual street-side dining spot accessible directly off West Cordova. Very interesting Italian lunch menu. Food was excellent. Very good, friendly service. Good selection of cocktails and wine by the glass. This place is relatively new but deserves to be busier and “found by” the downtown lunch crowd as people return to the office.
