Canyon Lake Park

I love this park, I can skate for miles and miles around the lake and then starting here and following the bike trails, very pretty and seems to be the safest in Rapid City, lots of geese to watch and lots of people and kids, dogs, fishing, multiple playsets and places to BBQ, many different places to park, next to a pay to play golf course, on the edge of town, right down the road is a nice dog park, too. All around favorite. There are kayaks to rent. Beautiful homes overlook the park from the hills surrounding. The trails connect to the disc golf course, baseball fields, another park, water park, on and on it's awesome.

Very beautiful lake on the edge of the Black Hills. Scenic walking trail that goes around the majority of the lake. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a picnic or fishing spot.

I've been coming to the spillway sice I was a kid great place to bring family and just relax I have many memories here and I always start intertubing from canyon lake all the way down rapid creek

I really like coming here nice clean park. I like the wildlife here. Such a beautiful lake with an island. Fishing is relaxing too.

I've lived in several states and a number of towns and cities, and Canyon Lake Park is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever experienced. It is large, well manicured, and never too crowded. The lake is gorgeous, and it's so calming to walk around it, watching the wildlife and kayakers. There is always enough parking, and people watching is great. If you ever need to escape from others and enjoy the glory of nature, even for just ten minutes, this is the place to do it in Rapid City.
