Canadian Railway Museum

Story

One of the coolest rail museums I've ever been to. Great trains on display, well maintained, and it's easy to find the way around. The signs were clear and both in English and French. It spent 3 hours here and would have spent longer if the cafeteria was open. I also wish the model trains were running but the layout was still cool! I would definetly go back. The trolley was short but still a cool ride. Neat to see it in action.
We went to this museum as a grandma, mama and toddler trip. The small extra fee to take the two different train rides was worth it, as we spent 75% of the time here just riding the two trains.nnYou need to be in good physical shape to enjoy this museum. The main museum is large in itself and if you want to see everything, you need to travel between buildings on a train with stairs or walk quite a distance. Fine for us, but could see this being an issue as grandma ages.nnThe interior museums were a bit overwhelming for the little one. Not sure if it was the smell of oil, the size of the trains or the darkness - she did love all the trains outside. The grounds were very well kept and we must have spent an hour adventuring and finding trains randomly.nnIf you are a St Constant local, 100% recommend as it is free if you present proof of residence.
A really great expo with a kind workers. There are even tours we only saw a short one but it was very interesting the trains are in good condition and simply astonishing! The price is too reasonable to comprehend and it was all breathtaking.nnThere are big signs that talk and explain facts. Trains outside and inside.nnThere's even a little trolley that you can ride. It does cost extra but you can ride it throughout the whole day! There's also a little train for the kids. There is a car in the main building with a bunch of toys and it's really fun for kids.
Reasonably priced and fun opportunities to explore for the whole family. There is a trolley operating that will transport you around the whole property. There's also a miniature railway you can ride on. Currently there is no food prepared on site, but you can pack a lunch and enjoy it in the secluded dining area. Truly a must not miss opportunity if you find yourself in the area.
My 4yo son loves trains and enjoyed this museum as much as the great train museums we visited in Tokyo weeks earlier. The tramway is fun to ride and the museum offers a chance to step aboard a number of old trains from various points and places in Canada's history.
