Very great first experience! This was my first blood donation! There is free underground parking for donors which is great, getting through and in was nice and quick, and donating was simple! All of the staff was very friendly, helpful and educated. When I wasn’t feeling my best, the staff was there to reassure me and help me from feeling faint. Lots of snacks available afterwards too. Overall a really positive experience and very kind and supportive staff!
182 donations, mainly plasma. Repeatedly I have an appointment, fill out the questionaire, get a QR code, drive to the clinic and than I get this why are you here. I say have a confirmed plasma appointment only be told I don't know why you came because it has been cancelled. This has been going on for years, eventually I decided this was unacceptable and stopped donating. Considering the alternative paid clinic. The money isn't the issue as it is very modest, I only hope an appointment is actually appointment.
I showed up for my scheduled donation on time with my child yesterday. I was told because I have my child they wouldn’t allow me to donate due to potential for fainting. Last time I checked I know my body better than anyone in that clinic, I have had bouts of extensive blood work and have made several donations over the years without ever fainting. I appreciate your concern for my child if something happens, but that’s when you add an emergency contact to the file should anything happen to contact that person to intervene. I don’t have relatives in this province or anyone that can help me. That shouldn’t be a reason to turn a donor away and threaten if something happens you will call child services. Last time I checked, you guys contact me regularly for donation because I have o- blood. And the contact is excessive at that because the need for O- blood is in high demand. But then to turn me away after driving way out of my way was a complete disregard for my time and the value that I offer to “Canada’s Life Line”. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and after this experience I probably will no longer do something so selfless due to the discrimination I experienced. Please ensure you remove me from your harassing call list as well.
Today was my first blood donation and I donated in this center. Everyone was great there. The lady that measure the temperature at first was great, and she made sure that everyone knows about the symptoms that will not allow you to donate. After that, the lady that registered me and gave me my card barcode was so polite, and she gave me my "first time donor" sticker. After that I finished the questionnaire, and was ready to screening step. At that point, the lady that did this step with me was so great. She measured my hemoglobin to make sure that I'm ready to donate, and she explained me the next step. Finally, I went to the chair that was prepared for blood donation. I told the nurse that I want to fill two or three bags instead of only one, but she said "only one bag". The nurses were wonderful and I didn't feel any pain. They are professionals. I got a toque after I finished my blood donation. I recommend anyone to donate with his blood in general and specifically in this center. I will say that it was a great experience, and I will donate again after 2 months. "Maybe they will allow me to fill two bags instead of one!"
I donated blood here for the first time yesterday! The welcoming atmosphere of the clinic really helped put me at ease. The process from the beginning to the end went very smoothly and I encountered nothing but organized procedures and friendly staff all throughout. COVID guidelines were also followed closely, so I didn't feel at risk at all here. Bonus: there is free underground parking and they give you free snacks afterwards!
He recently moved to this new location. Inside is very modern and nice. People who work there a very polite and profession. Did try to make things go quick and answer any question you have. Did you have free parking downstairs in the garage label for donors 24/7. Remember to register your license plate in the front desk of the clinic. The process usually takes an hour from start to finish when donating whole blood. The questionnaires is fairly quick now do you use tablet to answer questions. The nurses were very good it didn't even hurt at all when she took the blood sample. They have snacks and soup available after you donate if your standard packaged snacks sometime they have baked goods.
I always feel a little drained after I leave but the staff jumps to the pump!
I feel great giving half a litter of my blood. Give life if I can. Ambyr is so gentle and very good in her job. Explaining how the process in donating blood. I love this location.
Very friendly staff and what an easy process to do something so good for our community! Wow! All I can say is thank you for making our Home Instead team feel comfortable! We are excited to come back again and help with such an important cause!
Great location for people who live downtown. There is a a lot of space in ground parking too so it suit people who live outside downtown as well. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Place is spacious, clean and organized. At the end of you appointment, you can stroll around. There are stalls, food court and cinema all in one place.
