Canada West Vets is absolutely outstanding. Throughout 2021/22, I have trusted the neuro, surgery & internal medicine departments with the care of my kitty Claude. They did everything they could to first figure out what his troubles were it was an absolute mystery at first, get him the surgery he needed, and then provide unmatched post-op care and follow ups. I truly felt like the doctors, and vet techs at this hospital cared about my cat and made the best recommendations for us even when money was going to be tight they were absolutely understanding of this too as we racked up quite a few hard-to-swallow bills. My cat is still alive thanks to the care of Dr. Manens, Dr. MacDonald, and Dr. Barnard. Thank you SO much to the whole team. It was my first experience taking my cat to the emergency. Before we went to the hospital, we called and they inquired about the cat's condition, behavior, etc. Dr. Dawson was so kind and professional. As I didn't fully understand the call with jargon and long English, she e-mailed me every call and sent it to me. Also, they gave various advice and allowed me to choose a treatment method. My cat was hospitalized for a day and was completely cured through endoscopy and is now very healthy. I really appreciate their emergency service and professional staff.
Feelings are still a bit raw after needing to bring my sweet 1 yr old cat to emergency yesterday at 12 in the morning. We were supposed to have an appointment with internal medicine later in the day, but my boy could not hold on any longer. Even though they were busy, they took him in as soon as they could. We were greeted with a friendly receptionist and the doctor of the night took great care of him. She told us the news we wish we didn't have to hear, but gave us estimates and options with her honest professional opinion. We had to make a tough decision because we could see his quality of life wasn't good anymore.. he was barely holding on at home. They let us have as much time as needed to say goodbye to him. The vet assistant who came to get him when it was time, she sat down with him, pet him and was very supportive and took time to talk to us. Everyone there had great compassion and this was the reason it made the whole thing more bearable.. as hard as it was to lose him. The bill was higher than other places for sure, but I was content with the service and I would trust them for emergencies with my other cats. Thank you Canada West for your amazing service and helping me send my beautiful boy across rainbow bridge :
This hospital has such considerate, intelligent and thoughtful staff. Took my kitty here with some unexpected health problems and they did an amazing job of explaining things to myself and my partner and offering the best care for my little guy. I would recommend this hospital to anyone, worth every penny for the care provided. Thank you so much Canada West for everything you've done for our little family, you made a very terrible time more manageable.
Nothing but great things to say about this hospital. My 6 yr old American Pitbull Sophie had some type of accidental ingestion of an unknown substance which left her with explosive diarrhea and recurrent vomiting 15-20x in 24 hrs. After my first attempt at another emerg hospital with nothing resolved i came here under the recommendation of a friend. The whole team from front desk, to vet techs/assistants to Dr. Enberg were nothing but sweet and considerate to myself and my baby. Dr. Enberg always made sure to make personal updates to me everyday during her 5-6 night stay with Canada West. He was so kind and reassuring and updated me with every step and every progress Sophie was making. Would highly recommend to any pet owners who want the utmost attentive, top notch care to their furbabies!
Such a wonderful experience during a stressful time. The technicians genuinely cared and loved my senior cat making sure she felt as comfortable as possible during her weekend stay. The doctors and nurses were in-depth with their diagnostics, and I was always assured I could call for check ins as much as I wanted. A very professional and warm environment. Cannot recommend this hospital enough!
I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Canada West. The level of care and competency was exceptional. I was worried sick about my dog and one of the team members came around the desk to give me a hug. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that, full of empathy and kindness. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking such good care of Bean. Highly recommend bringing your furry family member here, you will receive the best care there is.
Visited the ER with my dog Lily and was greeted by warm and friendly staff. Dr Rylea is super compassionate and articulate. She gave us a thorough explanation of possible causes for Lily’s fever and what our options look like. The fever is under investigation but Lily’s parents already feel so much better and definitely not as panic stricken as we were when we walked into this place. Thank you for everything!
I want to thank Dr Ashleigh and the rest of the Canada West staff today for their professionalism and care. Obviously nobody wants to come into the emergency vet, however my cat Renfrew was taken care of in her last moments. We got to say goodbye in a dignified and comfortable manner.
I recently had to take my kitty Chloe to Canada West for testing, which unfortunately turned out to be a tumour in her nose. The staff, from the front desk to the doctors, are amazing. Just recently I had to say goodbye to my Chloe girl and had to take her to Canada West because she wouldn’t have lasted much longer, and they were so kind and sympathetic. They gave us time with Chloe before and after she passed. They explained everything and were so supportive. Don’t hesitate to take your pet here if you have an emergency, they will look after both of you with care.
