A wonderful experience as always! I've brought my pets to the hospital here previously and have nothing but positive things to say! Last week, my partner and I adopted a little guy! People working there know everything about the animals and really care. The adoption process was quick and easy, but fairly thorough to make sure the animal matched well with the future owner. Our new pet, Gus is adorable and we love him! Thank u staff & volunteers :
This is the third BC SPCA I went to this weekend that is closed during regular adoption hours I see on the website. There's no updates on Google or twitter or website that says they will be closed or closed early.
We adopted a Tuxedo cat named Whiskey, who was taken to the shelter as a kitten. Hats off to all the volunteers and donors who make this possible. We are very happy with Whiskey and the care and love he received along his journey from the Peace region to Vancouver. Donate to the BC SPCA whenever or whatever you can.
Worst case scenario, they out me in a kill room trap and forced me into killing my dog. I do not and would never recommend this place ever. To anyone who loves their animal. Death trap. No compassion or empathy for owners. Dr. Jackie McDowell and her overweight killing assistant Jessica. Awful and Horrible people, I pray karma finds green soon for the animals they have murdered.
I've been taking my pets to the SPCA animal hospital for over a decade now and I can say that they have been provided the absolute BEST care. Even though sometimes I have to wait beyond my appointment time, I know that they are providing sometimes critical treatments to the pets in line before mine, and will do whatever they can to ensure that every pet leaving the facility has been afforded the best treatment possible. I don't hesitate putting the health and wellness of my pets in the hands of the dedicated and educated staff at the SPCA animal hospital. Thank you for your countless years of service, advocating and caring for the lower mainland pet and human! community.
Went to the hospital to pay for my cat's cremation. Now, I await her ashes. Service was friendly enough and they were kind enough to hold my cat's body for longer then usual because me being on government disability, I had to pay in increments. I appreciate that, thank you. I wanted to look at the shelter dogs but they wouldn't let the public in that day due to a large seizure they were getting organised.
Charlie's foodbank covered the spaying of my beloved french bulldog, Sadie-Grace. She died October 26 2018 from Pyometra due to the SPCA NOT REMOVING HER UTERUS WHEN THEY SPAYED HER. Never mind I have a certificate saying they completed a ovariohysterectomy. She is the third dog from Charlie's that has died/nearly died from Pyometra and the common denominator is the SPCA. I will NEVER let these monsters touch another animal of mine, and I don't suggest you let them touch yours. My little girl was 5 years old and had years ahead of her. She never should have died, she shouldn't have died. I will be collecting names and filing a class action lawsuit against them for the death of animals operated on by their surgery. I will not allow them to get away with killing my little girl, my everything and my best friend. I do need to amend this review with an observation about judgmental treatment of pet parents from the DTES, particularly those whose postal codes start with V6A, if you bring your animal here and it has injested drugs of any type expect questions like "Around what time did your dog get into your stash?" followed be a "No judgement" tacked on. You will be demonized because of where you live. A quick note, many of us residents of the DTES live sober lives. We do not endanger our companions because they are all we have. My postal code does not dictate my ability to provide the best care possible for my pets; this is why I bring them to you. I have not experienced this treatment first hand, but have been witness to it. I work in overdose prevention and that umbrella covers everyone. There are a lot of people down here trying to live sober lives amidst mass genocide, give us some credit for trying to keep our pets safe.
This location is wonderful. A beautiful open courtyard to view the dogs. Staff are kind of a bit bitter at times.... But I'm sure it's more of the type of job then their actual personality. The cat rooms are nice but a little more caged in feeling. The animals here last about 5 days before a full adoption has been made. So if you're looking for your furry friend. Don't hesitate. You can request to take the dog for a walk too...
Top notch. Full gold star! Great staff. The only issue I had was that although I booked an appointment, I wasn't seen until 45 minutes after the scheduled time. However, considering the great care, and reasonable prices, I will be back. This animal hospital doesn't call you 5 days in a row to try and sell you more goods or services, and they dont overcharge you for things you don't need.
Today is Nov 4th. Covid restrictions has been lifted everywhere, except here!!! I was told I had to leave my cat inside for examination while waiting in my car not allowed inside. While waiting, the battery of my car died and I'm here freezing. This is beyond ridiculous!! No one is doing this anymore. We could be inside wearing a mask if that helps. On a positive note, the doctors here are very caring and very good to our animals.
