Beeeaautiful park. A legitimate hidden gem. I've been hiking in Dishman Hills multiple times and never knew this was there! The rentable log building is lovely and even has a fireplace and piano inside. The restrooms are also open to the public at least during the summer. The huge grass field is very well cared for with multiple picnic tables and a cute little play structure for kids. There are many trails leading out to the hiking areas. This is now one of my favorite spots in the Valley.
Great hiking paths. Gets really crowded on sunny warm days. If you do go please be respectful stay on the paths and pick up after your pets. This is all volunteer maintained and should be treated accordingly. Nobody is going to pick up after you, pack it in pack it out. If all that sounds good feel free to enjoy a wonderful park.
Hike, jog, run, play in the park. Sunshine, trees and hills. Very green and family friendly. Grass and park below the trails. Enormous parking lots. Paved and dirt. Near main roads for easy access. A great spot.
Lupin blooming! Saw rare bench trash on Main Trail. Please know that bench service is not available on the trail: bring out your trash!
We should’ve heeded the warning by a young adult male wielding a large sword at us as we drove by in our car on the way to the closest parking lot to the lodge. Prior, We were assured that the public would avoid us and be courteous to our event. This did not happen. People continued to walk through the area between the lodge and the bathroom, including one time a large dog jumped on one of our wedding guests wearing a nice light dress. During the reception, ambulance, fire truck and police arrived and were searching the area. Also, we had to clean the lodge BEFORE we used it. The bathrooms are not nice but a basic park bathroom. If it rains, water will fill the floors and make it dangerous for wedding guests. I would advise anyone planning on using this for their wedding, look for another venue. Even if it means paying more.Generously 2 stars because it’s a beautiful park to take a hike.
Beautiful area, lots of space, and nice facility for events! Parking is easy, and a few nice trails to hike/walk!
Wow, what a difference a year makes, but last year, thick haze of smoke, could barely see across mown lawn at Camp Caro, this year, even during the typically smokey August month, barely any smoke at Camp Caro at all. Which remember Spokane you can thank our dedicated Firefighters and especially YOU! Yep you yourselves were one reason fire season wasn't so bad this drought year, bcuz you were more careful Spokane with your fire safety and fewer man-caused fires were experienced, making it easier for our dedicated fire fighters to.take on and contain mother natures pyro-show! So while thanking those fire fighters give yourself a good pat-on-the-back for doing your part in preventing wildfires this year. And remember what Smokey says: "Only YOU can prevent Wildfires and the damage they do!" In my day they were called Forest Fires and Smokey was a gentle sounding human looking Black Bear. That was centuries ago, remember I knew dirt when it was still rocks! Lol
Attended a wedding there. It was well kept, very clean beautiful place. I have lived here all my life and didn't know this place existed. What a great find for weddings, birthdays, reunions or just a great party.
Great place for a hike, great play place for kids. Love the outdoors
Amazing location for gatherings during good weather. Public access at all times even if cabin is rented.
