Café Résonance

The place has a grungy vibe. The furniture, the walls and the floor are somewhat tarnished showing off some age. I personally like the style, but it could feel a bit trash. There is a lot of room inside and the hours are very convenient. If you want to meet for a post-work coffee/tea; this place is great. They even have beer on tap. Otherwise, they have shows almost every night, make sure you choose a suitable time if you are visiting to study or talk, or that might ruin your experience.

It's a small Jazz Club type resto bar. The live music is good and at the time we were there, the contribution for the band was give as you want with an $8 suggestion. Food is vegan and the Mac & Cheese was quite good. Wooden chairs make it a little uncomfortable so grab a cushioned bench seat against the wall if you can.

Nice little cosy spot in a basement on park ave. The homemade coconut milk is awesome. It makes the best latte. Never too busy during the day. you can always find a spot to sit.

Great spot for amazing espressos and great pastries. Coffee here is taken seriously, great espresso machine, good coffee beans and serious barista :) Lots of tables and plenty of space to work. Ambience is a bit low on the lighting. They also serve lunch dishes and have regular bands playing on evenings. Friendly service and affordable prices.

Honestly I wouldn't have given this place a one star if I was judging by the place, it's completely trash. Some my call this place hip but I've seen where hipsters go, this is not it (I went during the day so I can't judge on the music). I gave three stars only because the sandwich I got was amazing! After all the food is what matters, I'd recommend taking it to go, unless you want a cheap cafe to sit and work.
