I am not religious, but if there is a heaven, there will be cafes and bakeries galore on every street to sit, converse, read, people watch... all the great things in life. And perhaps, on one of these streets, there would be a Cafe Olimpico. Foremost, when a small cafe imports cakes from abroad, you know they are serious. And my goodness gracious, the almond cake and tiramisu, both imported from Italy, are divine intervention itself. The lattes and coffees are also exceptional, and this is coming from someone who often feels that coffee is overrated. I also loved the indoor seating options, which, though limited, offered a relaxing setting inclusive of window views of a quaint alley particularly atmospheric on rainy and/or snowy days. I always claim that you know a place is truly good when you want to come back the next day, and at Cafe Olimpico, I did just that, and if I lived in Montreal, would come again and again.
This is one of my newest favourite places in Montreal. Would recommend trying out their ham and egg croissant , their Tiramisu this you absolutely must try and I'd argue it's the most delicious item on their menu and their Coffee flavoured soft-serve. Not only is the food great but their ambience is comfy and perfect too.
So rare to find such authentic coffee shops. Brings back nostalgia from the delicious coffee in Italy. Absolutely love this place! **For students*** There is even a “lounge” after you pass the clothing store behind the back of the coffee shop. It’s very calm and a great place to stay for studying!
Good coffee place in the old port Montreal. Great ambiance and decor with loud music can be a turn off for some. The coffee tasted amazing and so is the tiramisu. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but it was worth the stop. The place get packed quite easily with tourists and locals.
I loved this place! The cappuccino was one the best I've had, that I went twice in the same day. The cannoli was DELICIOUS and such an adorable spot. Service was good, no complaints about the food, service or environment. The only bad thing is that I could not find a plug for my laptop and there's no patio/outdoor seating.
Humble request, follow me as I try to help new visitors to this place. Got a cappuccino with double shot as always whenever i visit Montreal and my buddies tried their cold beverage. Love their coffee so much that i grabbed a bag of their whole beans for espresso. Place has always been lively and lineups move quick. Drinks are great and so are are baristas.
Located inside a hotel. Long wait times to order. Hot chocolate was not too sweet and basic. The almond pastry had cream, not to my liking. The canninoli was tasty. Extremely small store, hard to study or talk. Interesting decor.
This place is a little gem in old Montreal. We were walking past this cafe and we were lured in by a whiff of coffee. As we entered, we saw someone with an affogato, and it looked very enticing with a cannoli as a garnish. You get to choose between hazelnut and pistachio for the base. We got the hazelnut one and the barista did a little show with the espresso pour. The affogato was delicious, and we inspired a few others in line to get the same while we were enjoying ours. The place is cozy with nice window seats, and music, and add it to really fun baristas who seem like they are enjoying what they do. We wanted to get their tiramisu as a lot of the reviews mention, but they were out of it. We went to the cafe the next day, and they were out yet again! But we tried the cafe crema instead, it is basically their coffee icecream and it is perfect for the summer! I’m not a coffee drinker, but I love coffee flavored desserts, and I loved my experience the two times I have been here! And before leaving Montreal, we will probably visit a few more times for the elusive Tiramisu.
Awesome latte and pastries. Got a pistachio donut and croissant breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious. A perfect way to start the morning in Old Montreal
