About

Spanish Tapas with a flare. Designer cocktails and Spanish wines to pair.

"Located in vibrant Commercial Drive, Cabrito is the neighborhood's cozy nook focused on offering great Spanish cuisine. It adds to the already rich cultural tapestry of this amazing neighborhood. With a stunning mural drawn by local artist Yared Nigussu and rotating live entertainment varying from traditional Flamenco to Latin soul, it's easy to be transported to the back streets of St. Sebastian.Driven by Alex Carriere, Cabrito is a combination of different personalities and characters who bring their craft into a 36 seats restaurant, where you will find locally sourced produce, seafood and non-medicated meat to recreate Spanish tapas with a twist, a selection of cheeses, charcuterie, & seasonal small plates."

When I walked along the Commercial Drive today, I had appetite for something different not Asian food, burgers or pizza. At the “Cabrito” I ate a Salmon Benny. The price was rather in the upper level. However, The servers were very friendly and attentive, and the taste of the benny was also good. The Sauce Hollandaise was tasty too. Just the kale salad with its strong taste was interfering with the more delicate taste of the smoked salmon and spinach. Anyways, I enjoyed the meal in that environment. Due to the price level it is certainly not a restaurant that I would visit frequently. But from time to time I could go there for a treat.
Yummy food! Everything was very tasty and well presented but don't go there with a big appetite because the portions are on the small side. They also don't have many vegan options. My sister got a dish that said vegan option available but all they did differently was take away the eggs and had nothing else to offer. Overall all it was tasty. The drinks are pricey but delicious!
Great place, fun vibe and really friendly staff esp owner. The place is a bit on the louder side but nice decor, ambience and more of a main-street vibe. The food was good, the sliders were a bit fatty with the pork fat but I ate it. Today I feel a bit guilty but definitely tasty. The guacamole with taro chips were good. Some of the chips were extra greasy from being deep fried. Regardless, I give the place a 4.5. I’m giving the place 4 and could be 3 instead of rounding up to 5 because I was a bit confused about the cleanliness. I dropped my napkin on the floor for some time. Then the younger curly-haired male waiter came by and picked it up but proceeded to use the same napkin that fell and I had likely stepped on, to clean our table between the appys and entrees. I didn’t say anything because the intention was obviously not ill-willed or bad. But his natural instinct to clean with a napkin from the floor makes me go hmmm and in the moment unappetizing.
The patio is nice! The food is expensive and okay, interesting selection, but lots of options. The drinks were descent. Small restaurant, close seating. I tried the patata brava and the board which includes 3 different meat options and two cheese which was $30. I found both plates plain and not very interesting, and the extra drizzle of oil over meat and cheese board / bread is not necessary. Also, I found cuts of meat fatty. Waitress was hard to understand and opinionated. The dessert I tried was a cream brûlée, which was delicious they have different names for commonly found dishes.
This place was pretty cool! The prawns, bread, peppers, squid and chorizo were so good. We didn't like the strawberry dessert too much. $5 sangria. Wheelchair friendly. Smaller patio but pretty cool spot. I suggest you guys make a reso for 4 or more.
Amazing food, incredible attention to detail, and great atmosphere! The food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was just mind-blowing. Great portion sizes filled with flavor. Just a short walk from Commercial station too, really convenient. Can't wait to try out their dinner menu. The staff were super friendly. Definitely coming back again! Thanks guys!!!
Delicious happy hour tapas and patatas bravas on the Drive. Tortilla patata was on the soft side but I liked it. Brava sauce was good with a big portion of potatoes for tapas and topped with some kind of cheese sauce. Avocado aguacate, made like guacamole with taro chips were also not bad. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the pintxos/tapas selection and flavours. Next time, I need to try the paella!
This place was great. We got the anchovie stuff olives, oranage and honey chicken wings, and the fish and squid pallea. The food was excellent and I also got a Bourbon Old fashion which is my usual drink but this place just took too spot for the best one in town in my book! Staff was great as well. Will be back for sure!
Excellent cuisine that capture the Latino style. The spices are splendid and the freshness of the ingredients makes it an joyful explosion of flavours. It is a small place but it builds its friendly atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, it reminds me of some small European places where the pride of a tradition is expressed with strength but also humble modesty.
Very impressive Spanish style bistro, great cocktails and nice dishes, service brunch and dinner , friendly servers, all young ..
