The food here is the best they take pride and are locally owned. We haven't been coming here often but will be making the effort to now. The server working the night of October 22 had incredibly hospitality and spoke so kindly of her husband and kids. Edit July 4th - Literally just came online to leave the another review of the same food and server. This time I was able to remember her name is Jen, she has the best attitude! The food is ten times better when the customer service is that outstanding will be back more often.
Really good food! Chicken penne was delicious! Good time during lunch. Prices are reasonable and good atmosphere. Great server ladies who took care of our group. Lots of parking in the area that could potentially get crowded with the other restaurants close by.
Ultimately just an average pub with average food and average service. The decor is your typical Irish pub mostly wood, and it seemed clean and in good condition... a lot better than your neighborhood dive. Standard pub food that's nothing really amazing, but we ordered the Baby Yorkies which were quite good and nicely not as small as others I've had in similar pubs. We went on wing night, which was a Tuesday at mid-evening time they also do wings on Wednesdays, and found it not very busy at all. The server was nice but didn't show much personality and she never did check on us after the food came, which was disappointing since she forgot to ring in our side of veggies, so we never got a chance to remind her to bring them. But the other times she came by she was quick to bring us any refills on drinks. When the wings were brought out, which took longer than expected, they weren't hot at all, just kind of warm. The wing flavor choices are average with a few interesting mixes. At the end of the night, the yorkies and the comfortable atmosphere are the only things that would bring me back, but I won't be itching to return anytime soon.
DO NOT ever go here. 3 of us ordered meals and drinks. 1 meal arrived 10 minutes after the others and salmon was frozen, waitress didn’t come around for about 10 minutes after to ask if everything was alright. When we asked for the manager he came by and didn’t seem to care. He gave us some bs excuse about why it was frozen and said he would take it off the bill and didn’t offer anything else. No free drinks, no discounts, nothing. Very disappointing and very unprofessional. We will never go there again. Similar thing happened to us at the Canadian brew house and they covered the whole $200 bill. Very bad, don’t do it.
Food, atmosphere, price, and drinks are mixed perfectly. Waitress remembered us and what we like I think Christine, and the owner who was leaving for the day stopped to our table to make sure we were comfy. So glad this place is close to home! A neighborhood treasure.
Went for lunch with my husband, I ordered a Burger and he ordered fish and chips. The Burger was missing bacon and honestly not that great. The fish was so over cooked it was a dark brown and the size of a chicken finger. Staff was nice and friendly, our waitress gave us a small percentage off when she realized 3/4 of my Burger went to the garbage. Nice staff, food could use an over haul.
I stop by here twice a week, usually on one of the two wing nights and on Friday's when they have a live singer playing. It's a great local hangout, and it has a friendly atmosphere. The staff are friendly and will engage in light conversation during less busier evenings. The menu is average at best, some things are great, other items not so much. The wings are great, The Firehouse Burger is awesome, and the club sandwich is also a fine choice. The Shepard's pie is lacklustre, lasagna is so so and the French fries are terrible. They are the coated fries and they taste awful. The menu could use a couple items to jazz it up. A good ole fashioned Irish chili would be a great addition and they really could use a good steak in the $20 to $24 dollar price range. They need to change the fries and find a different supplier. Hand cut fries from PEI potatoes would be awesome, however a non coated wide steak fry would be a lot better than what they currently serve. There are not a lot of options on the dessert menu, an apple pie or apple crisp with an a-La-mode option would entice me to spend more cash. Irish Mum's know how to make a great apple pie!! The menu obviously isn't what attracts me to this location, its the friendly atmosphere and the Pub size. It's a medium size Pub so even on busier nights I can usually find a place to sit, kick back, relax, enjoy a cold beer and take in a game. The staff are friendly and they can telepathically predict what I'm going to order prior to sitting down. If the servers are super busy, the bartender will help clear dirty plates and walk drinks to tables. The staff work together and back each other up, a total team culture. They have had some great singers perform on Friday evenings, and you can enjoy the performance no matter where you sit. If those giant millennial bars playing horrible techno music with 3000 people shoulder to shoulder fighting to get to the bar to buy a drink aren't your cup of tea, head over to Bushmills, you'll be able to enjoy a drink without getting a techno headache.
A great place in south Calgary. I stumbled upon this place Friday night and wow what a gem. The food is beyond what is expected in a pub, they have incredible menu selection and at an affordable price. The staff were extremely pleasant and very attentive to all our needs. The decor was again very well done most notable the giant wood burning fireplace in the center and the wood work. If you haven't been here you are missing what I believe is one of the great Calgary establishments.
Service was terrible. We were blatantly ignored even though we were right by a side station and multiple servers had to walk past us. We had to flag someone down to get a bill and when they didn’t take off our coupon for a free appy the server ignored me and wouldn’t refund our ‘free’ appetizer because we had paid. Perhaps servers are new and not interested in making money or do not realize that people usually only tip for service that is acceptable and hopefully even ‘good’.
I've frequented Muldoons, it's close to where I live and the food has always been good. It's had it's ups and downs as it went through a management change, and I'm very happy with how things are turning out. The food is always hot, lots of it, and the service has never left me waiting. Definitely a good pub atmosphere, beer and wings are a staple :
