Burntwood Tavern Crocker Park

We had an early dinner. A burger, a salmon sandwich and a salad. Terrific. The interior was visually fascinating and the service was great. We were taken care of by Rhonda. We look forward to going back.

Great staff, especially at the bar. These happy hour prices are no joke people. 4 drinks and 3 appetizers for $30! You can’t beat that. They get busy fast so get there earlier rather than later. I will say that the wait for food is ridiculously long, but thankfully we weren’t in a hurry. I’ve worked in restaurants before and the thing is, if you’re in an area like this, you’ve GOT to know when you’re going to be regularly busy. That’s definitely one thing they need to work on because this isn’t my first time having a long wait. House wine is delicious and you have to get the tavern chips. Just do it.

So I have been here 3 times now. Here’s my rant. Why put all this money into making this place just beautiful (and it is), but not match it with food quality? I get it. It’s Crocker Park. I’m going to pay $13 for a darn burger. But it better be better, tastier, bigger, than the burger at Check Please, or BreakWall. Because there’s is better in every way, and it’s $9. Many places do exactly that. Put all the money into decor, and theme etc..The food becomes 3rd or 4th on the list. Leaf lettuce in the bottom of a burger is a good move so the darn thing doesn’t fall apart. Fries that are fresh cut and cooked in better quality oil? Tried the Bloody Mary bar. What a disaster that is.

Went with a bigger group of 10. Service was a little slower but it didn't seem due to short staff or packed seating. The waitress and other help service kept bringing drinks to the wrong people at our table. My group overall enjoyed the place and food. My steak frites was not worth the price because it was cold and dry do to being cut too early and sitting put before serving. We also were charged for drinks that we didn't have. Atmosphere is nice, though.

Excellent atmosphere! Great food! Fireplace was nice, was cold out today!
