Why 2 stars? The bathroom is absolutely atrocious for no conceivable reason. You're lucky if you get toilet paper, forget about hand soap. Every surface is filthy. This isn't back country camping, it's $35-50 campsites. Totally uncool. I'd honestly consider a cheap motel room. The campsites are a good size with picnic table and firepit. They are sort of close to one another so it may get loud on weekends. I would not classify it as easy bike in/out for Kingdom Trails unless you're up for a long ride at the end of the day. The woman at the hotel desk named Siobhan was really nice and helpful. You also get access to some hotel amenities such as shower/pool/hot tub.
Its a campgroud everyone that has complained should stay at a KOA...I come here every year for the last 4..you have some nights that people are up late but its camping and mountain biking what do you expect. ps the bathrooms look amazing right now.. maybe because of little use or they updated them.
This is actually a very nice campground. The facilities are great. But if you really need a bit more luxury, you are allowed to use the facilities at the adjacent hotel, including the outdoor pool. Sweet
Quiet, secluded, and convenient to the mountain and Kingdom Trails. BUT the bathrooms and shower hadn't been cleaned in quite a while - a better campground would clean them daily. Plus they need a little TLC - chipping paint, dangling light fixture, and cosmetic carpentry. At least there was hot water for a shower, although it wasn't clear at first how to work the temp control! Last, my site hadn't been checked prior to my arrival - there was months of ash built up in the fire ring along with some trash from the last campers.
I guess the camp sites are okay, they have all the basics, but they are not highly maintained. The bathrooms, on the other hand, are gross. We only stayed one night, which is good, since there's no way I would shower there. I punctured my hand pretty severely on the hook for the shower enclosure, which I used to change in. The hook was pointy sharp like a mini pick axe!
Have been there about 10 times. Each time very expensive for what it is, primitive tent site. $40+ per night. That's more than many full hookup RV campground sites cost!! The campground showers/toilets are a joke, take a car and towel downtown to the showers outside the Tiki Bar, they are 100 times better. In last couple years, they give you an access card to the mid Burke Hotel, so you can access the shower/toilet and the pool and hot tub after a day of riding the the trails. It''s about a 6 minute walk from the campground. I cannot give it an average 3 score, it is definitely below average for cost vs amenities.
Been going to this campground for years, good service, great access to Kingdom Trails. Bathrooms are small but ok, the shower is not great, but there are nicer showers at the Kingdom Trails parking lot so there are options. The addition of the camp store at the campground is a great convenience.
If you are going with a family stay away! Unless you dont mind a revolving group of partiers partying until the wee hours. Very loud and aggressive. One group leaves ,another comes. There is no supervision of the campground after 830 at night. I called the hotel, she said there was nothing they could do. As well im not a pampered camper. I do a lot of back country hiking. But if im going to car camp i would like them to clean the bathroom once in awhile and make sure there is soap to wash your hands and paper towel to dry them. If these things wouldn't bother you its a great location, and not bad wooded sites.
Nice and peaceful campground. Very close to the trails and a nice climb back from town. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner, but work. They also have a spot to wash your bike. Also, bring as much food and drinks as you can, east burke does not have a grocery store near by. Only a general store.
I stay at the campground while our automotive club is attending an event here. The campground is always clean and well-kept. The ranger is very friendly and very helpful to us while we stay.
