I am a bit torn about giving this station only 3 stars - I am not a TTC hater by any means. but this station definitely can use some TLC and attention from TTC management or whoever is in charge.nIt used to be part of my daily commute for a few years - and I've noticed on many occasions how understaffed it was. I would see literally one TTC employee manning it, and that was it. there were drivers of course, but they were just taking breaks between routes, not watching the station. I can only imagine how stressful it must be for a single employee who works there, especially if there are many customers asking questions or heaven forbid, some kind of an incident or emergency.nThe LED display on 505 streetcar platform has been out of order for years. YEARS. I mean, is it so hard to call the vendor and have it fixed? or replaced with a new one? today the LCD display on the eastbound subway platform was also out or order. Sadly this is quite a common on subway stations these days. TTC, what happened to your mojo?nthe station is fully accessible, which is wonderful. btw. the most unique feature of the station and quite a curiosity on its own is the escalator between mezzanine and street/bus/streetcar level see one of my pictures. it always intrigued me: it looks like somebody made an error why taking measurements and ordered an escalator that was 3 steps too short. the outcome is a hybrid - an escalator with 3 solid steps at the bottom.nAnother problem is trespassing. I always see people who just walk in straight from the street - without paying. and mind you - these are not vulnerable people down on their luck - I see quite well dressed folks doing that. of course there is not enough staff to monitor it or enforce any rules.nthe station is quite busy with two streetcars lines: 504 and 505 thanks God, the most recent infrastructure/road repairs on Broadview had just concluded and the streetcars are back - however I've heard we are in for a major closure of the loop for its extension to accommodate the new Bombardier streetcars and 4 bus lines.nThe busiest/most crowded are lines 100 and 87. Btw. if you take eastbound line 2 to Main Station or beyond, and have some spare time and like to explore the city, get off at Broadview station and take 87 or 62 buses instead. they will take you to Main Station too, and you will see some daylight on the way. 100 and 87 have very good frequency, every 10 minutes or so. line 8 leaves every 30 minutes though.nSometimes it takes really long time for buses or streetcars to leave the station. as the vehicles have to cross pedestrian path in order to leave or enter the station, they have to wait for many people to pass before there is a break - or - a true miracle - pedestrians would stop and give the vehicles right of way. I am always like, c'mon people, is it really so hard to give up a few seconds and let this crowded bus take off, or you are really in such a hurry?nSometimes streetcars wait outside the station because there is not enough room on the platforms. the streetcars were designed for much shorter CLRVs do you remember them? they were so cute! and much faster lol. As I mentioned above there is a plan to extend the loop in the future to accommodate more streetcars.nOverall it is a decent station and pretty safe - but there is a lot of room for improvment. Pigeons keep hanging out there, even though some efforts were made to discourage them I see lots of spikes on the station roof.
Attention! for those who keep saying this station is accessible, it is not! Yes, a person with a disability has access from the subway to get upstairs but not to get downstairs from the bus depot! Yes there is an elevator but it is out of service most of the time! Accessibility means there are zero barriers!
It's really one of the busiest station on Line 2 or Green Line. From 3 stations away Eastbound from Bloor and Yonge Station.nSix Bus platforms. 4 bus platform to North Side of Danforth & 2 Street cars / Buses to South of Danforth from station. Great Bus & Streetcar terminal. Station really busy on Taste of Danforth - August - Street Festival Time. Station have late Bus service from outside station. Broadview station is back to removing and replacing station finishes. January 16, 2023
100A worst bus is never on time, frequency is very poor, always delayed
STREETCAR 504 takes forever to arrive in the station. BUS was way better!
