Brendel Lake Campground

Rustic camping. No power but nice and quiet place

My family (which includes a 2 and 4 year old) and I ended up at this campground by accident, but it was PERFECT! We got there after 9, but the owner took us directly to our spot. Saturday afternoon, my car needed a jump so we called up to the owner and he came down to jump it. The spots are HUGE, most of them come with grills and the seasonal campers are great! The public use areas are well kept. From the owner, I found out this has been a campground since 1948. The owner makes regular rounds to make sure everything is on the up & up and will take care of any "knuckle heads" that might have stumbled into the campground. This is definitely a "serious campers only" type of place...none of the "frills" like electricity, water on every site or showers, but the outhouses are kept clean, there are two centrally located water spigots and the owner says take a bath in the lake :) (no, you will not come out smelling like lake water).

love this place, ive been going for years, small self owned campground is connected to a very quiet lake you can rent a boat all day for at least half of what you pay at Proud Lake for only 4 hours. yeah its backwoods style, yeah its a little messy, but if you can stand to not be a stuck up tool and enjoy the simple things in life, this place scores 8.5 out of 10

it is a great place to hang out to fish and camp.
