I went in to have surgery and when I came out of surgery, I was having some issues. I was emotional due to the anesthetic and the nurses in day recovery were amazing. One nurse in particular, Jill, made an extremely vulnerable moment easier to deal with. She hugged me and held my hand while other nurses tried to help me, and the whole time she told me I was doing so good and that I was a trooper to distract me. I cannot be more thankful for them and my surgeon. My surgery has changed my life and I cannot be more thankful.
This is the second time in 2 weeks I had to go to emerge. From start to finish I could not have been treated better. Emerge, triage, to the see and treat area nurses doctors, technicians the women who rolled me down for the X-rays and brought me back. Lastnight was truly the best care and compassion ever!! Thank you to all that I came in contact with. Everyone of you treated me and my daughter so well that although I didn’t want to be there I was blown away by everyone. Thank you for easing the worry and pain I was experiencing!! You all have gone above and beyond to make sure all patients are given the respect compassion care and treatment that each person needs!
I had two procedures carried out recently at the Brantford Hospital. Every single member of the staff I encountered were far beyond my expectations with regard to the care and attention I was given during my day stay at the hospital. The staff were simply amazing. Best Regards Vic Benson
I went in at 8pm for severe dehydration at the request of my doctor. I was there for I WISH I was over exaggerating 11HRS! Over night feeling dizzy and in the most uncomfortable chairs unable to sleep. The best part was, finally at 7am the next morning I gave up and left. I couldn’t physically be in the waiting room anymore I’d rather be home in bed chugging a bottle of pedialyte. Everyone that got there when I was there before and a while after me had already come and gone. For about 4 hours no names were even called. Worst ER experience ever. Id rather drive over to Hamilton next time. Although I can say even tho I had this long wait, the nurse at triage I dealt with and checked on me was absolutely wonderful and kind.
This hospital is absolutely atrocious. Service is awful, nurses are extremely rude. People are severely ill and nurses have the audacity to be rude to them? That’s disgusting. Waited 6 hours for them to tell me I probably won’t see a doctor for my condition. The nurses in the triage are sitting in their little booth conversing and laughing while people are literally struggling to keep themselves up. This kid was bleeding so badly from his hand and face to the point where he needed stitches and had to wait 4 hours and left because he wasn’t getting serviced. This place doesn’t deserve to even be called a hospital. Kids with broken bones are crying in agony and they have to sit there for hours and leave because of the lack of service. Never going there again.
Took my daughter to the emergency room tonight as she had a high fever that had persisted for a few days. We were seen right away and treated amazingly by the staff. Every staff member we dealt with was so kind and helpful. We saw the pediatrician and were out of there within 4 hours.
Arrived Sunday night around 11 pm with my daughter Olivia and after check in we, and all others, waited to be seen by a doctor ALL NIGHT. my daughter was coughing nonstop and very uncomfortable. We had to leave the hospital at 6:30 am without consultation. We simply lost the whole night and my daughter left in a worst condition. Is this the health care we are so proud of? I haven’t seen such abandoned patients even in developing countries. Feel bad providing one star in this review. It should be minus 5.
Today I was absolutely disgusted as I was waiting in the Ambulatory Care Centre on floor M in the D wing of the hospital. There was a woman working at registration D across from the Tim Hortons. I don’t think she realized how far her voice travelled through the speaker as she was talking to people checking in. She was absolutely rude and ignorant. Zero respect for the elderly who could have been hard of hearing. Her tone is completely unacceptable. I was absolutely saddened to see her treat people like this. People with strong accents were also treated poorly. I almost wanted to stand at her window and help these people. Unsure of her name but she was a Caucasian woman wearing a grey sweater with brown hair. This was at around 12:15 PM. I had been sitting here for about an hour and it wasn’t that busy. No need to be short and she could gain to loose her annoyed demeanour towards people. Especially the elderly. Disgusting. There are people out there who would do a much better job than this woman. Definitely a coaching opportunity for her manger to address.
Not surprised with many of the comments about rude nursing staff. A bunch of egotistical nurses/techs who feel that patients/family members shouldn’t ask them any questions about what they’re doing. In more than just rude, it’s inhumane. 1 or 2 May show compassion but few and far between in that ER. I get that they are under pressure but hello, it’s worst for the person experiencing a health crisis and their loved ones concerned for their well being. It’s just a job to them but it’s more to the people on the other side. Just show some compassion it’s goes a long way. Shame on you BGH!
I attended BCHCS via ambulance after a horrific fall. The ER was extremely busy but all professionals that I came in contact with were exceptional, especially Dr Duncan & Dr Unger. Way to go for all the staff do each and everyday to keep our community needs met. They endure lots of ridicule daily but I am blessed to have had excellent , compassionate care all around
