The skating ring along the Bow River is well maintained and family friendly. Fire pits and Curling site are always busy, so it is a better book for reservations. However the skating trail is very weather dependent.
It's a really nice park. I don't know why the bathrooms were closed but they had the port a johns. Was a beautiful day to lounge at the oark.
The park itself is lovely. It was really busy with very little parking certainly not enough for the number of people in attendance. The Washroom at the playground was locked and the two outhouses that were placed beside the washroom were overflowing. I have never seen such a disgusting sight. They were unusable. The washroom at the front entrance had two of three stalls working, the third was overflowing. On the upside there were lots of employees collecting bottles. Maybe they could hire someone to clean the washrooms with the bottle return money.
Very nice park. Fair amount of walking and biking trails.nI like biking here cause even thougj in sunny days, there are plenty of trees to cover in the shade and take a rest.nI like the idea that you could cross the bridges to get to the other side of Bow River, Blake Park.nnCould be 5 stars but the public washrooms are really stinks and seems like they are not maintained periodically.
Great place to skate with lots of seating areas to rest your feet and fire pits to warm up. We were also very impressed with how the trees were lit up with all the lights. I did find that the ice a bit rough in some spots though, especially near the edges of the trail.
