Botterill Bottom Park

Very nice evening for a walk. I was disappointed that we were not able to get access to the spiritual rock site. Enjoyed watching the pelicans, male pheasant, yellow finch, and sand piper.

Beautiful river valley park! This is a significant location where you will find the fresh water treatment plant, intake canal, and weir. Popular fishing spot and wildlife viewing area. Keep watch for pelicans, wandering garter snakes, yellow-bellied marmots, raccoons, deer, beaver, and muskrat among many others. Gravel parking lot with boat launch. River Loop Trail offers great views of the University of Lethbridge and the coulees.

Went in for some mountain biking. Beauty of an area, totally worth the couple hour drive from Calgary. We will do it again.

Beautiful place with lots of exploring to do: don't sit on the cacti near the metal bridge like I did.

Love this area! So much to see in terms of wildlife pelicans, muskrat, beaver, sturgeon, weasels, deer, etc. Local plant life cottonwood, etc. Go check out the weir, police training yard, and tons of areas to walk. Down there is a boat launch or where many people like to start their floating trip to the bridge or Pavan. Couple benches placed, but you would need to bring a blanket or chairs if you plan on staying for a bit.
