It takes 2-4 months to book an appointment, unless you need a physician than 6-18 months. They won't use any medical information from before being a blue pine patient, even when it is very relevant and can change the outcome of a medical success or failure. I spent over 20 years having chronic pain and was told "just deal with it bud" by the main nurse practitioner, again and again. A hundred trips to the ER later and finally a COMPETENT medical worker gave me a proper diagnosis. Maybe don't give up on your patients getting better, and stop trying to make money off those pills you go out of your way to prescribe.
Aside from a total of 2 nurse practitioners and 1 doctor, everyone in this clinic is unprofessional and should not be licensed or employed. Will be reporting to the college of physicians after I called regarding making an appointment after having missed so many. I was informed their office policy was not to make a new appointment for me whatsoever because I'd missed so many, and the receptionist that told me this laughed as she said it. I tried to talk to their team leader who was in a meeting at the time, so I went to explain my problem to this woman thinking SURELY this is part of the job to which she continuously interrupted me with "okay"'s as though to calm me down- when the only thing frustrating me was being interrupted and not listened to. So I said, are you not going to talk with me then? She replied shortly that she was talking with me. When I said yes but she had continued to interrupt me and not allow me to speak, she told me she was hanging up on me now and said goodbye. I called and left an angry voicemail, did not curse, but did say that I have never been treated like that, and that no I am not able to wake up early. I've always been open about that and they continued to schedule me for mornings and not afternoons. They did not inform me of the aforementioned policy regarding not making new appointments after so many missed. No warnings. I live out of town and am struggling with mental health. All I wanted was a refill of a trial prescription of Seroquel as it helps me sleep and helps my anxiety the following day. Their counsellor refused to listen to me; one of their doctors when I asked about weight loss assistance after a traumatic pregnancy asked me if "I was ready to commit" as though I couldn't possibly care if I was coming to her. Their team leader got back to me, and was doing the EXACT SAME brushing off that her receptionist had done to me, until I broke down into tears. She would not hear me. She said her employee accused me of beginning to escalate the situation. My mother was standing in front of me and is going to agree to be witness to NO escalation on my end. On top of all of this, I have been asking for well over a year not to see a specific practitioner. My wishes have never been respected and I am continuously booked with her regardless of my request not to be. Apparently they should've recorded that and she essentially told me it was news to them. I am incredibly appalled. A woman in mental health distress calls, and these people- not even medical professionals it would seem- don't deem that woman deserving of someone to hear her complaint, or distress. Considering withdrawing my family from their care. My daughters we've discovered recently all suffer from mental illness as well, and I know they won't receive proper care here, because their mother hasn't.
The Blue Pine Clinic exists to help people who don't currently have a family doctor or practitioner, until they get one. Overtime they've started helping people who need care that a regular family doctor office can't provide. It makes sense you haven't gotten a permanent family doctor there. I find you do want to book 3 months ahead, I also found this clinic to be a great help!
The couple of doctors I've had are amazing here, I love them except 1 doc. I had issues with their therapist though. She dismissed the reasons I was actually there. The reception hasn't been calling me for my appointments or calling me when they are missed and has given additide with me when I've explained I needed an in-person appointment despite the fact the appointment I missed WAS in person and was incredibly important. To add, ive had 1 doctor there not write anything she told me I had down, and told me to get tests for things without telling me what for. She claimed I couldn't eat carbs and needed keto despite it harming my body more. If i recall correctly she was there for nutrition and diet etc while also a doc. This was a while back and they happily transfered me to a better doctor.
Blue Pine is a waste of time, I am always told to call for a list of doctors to get a family doctor. I now have a daughter and after 8 years of calling here I always get turned away with no help at all. If anyone knows a place to get a family doctor since Blue Pine doesn't have the list they are supposed to please let me know. The two times reception actually took the time to talk to me one told me to call the hospital switchboard and hung up before I could say a word, this was right after the hospital switchboard gave me their number. The other time was when reception gave me a number to a fax machine...
Although I have had positive experiences with this clinic, I received conflicting information from them on more than one occasion. The nurse practitioner who I regularly see there told me I could refill my prescription by phone, so I recently phoned to make an appointment about a week and a half out for a prescription refill in person, assuming that would be better. No appointments available, not unexpected, I didn't think it was a big deal and was told I could phone in the morning of to make a quick appointment to refill my prescription. I phoned this week and was told they don't do that, and am leaving for work this weekend. End result, no prescription refill for me, despite 2 reassurances that there wouldn't be a problem. The takeaway? Make an appointment well ahead of time. Do not listen when they tell you that you do not necessarily need one. I was also told when I became a patient there that they strive to place patients with family doctors, but have seen no evidence of that after 2 years of being a patient at the Blue Pine.
Sadly, no longer accepting patients without a family doctor and not accepting any new patients either because their funding was cut.
been dealing with them for around 5 years, super friendly and always helpful.
Super friendly staff, practitioners are knowledgeable and experienced. To the person who was complaining about the fact that they won't let students in: they probably have valid reasons for these policies, try not to judge them so harshly on it. If you're a student, there are likely health care services available to you, your school staff should be able to point you in the right direction. Your parents likely have a family practitioner that you can visit as well.
Doctors are quite nice, considering how unreliable and unavailable they are. Reception however, is just a bunch of angry Karen's that hate their job. I don't pay taxes for this to be the face of the medical system. If you're miserable and hate your job, then maybe you shouldn't work in reception. Disappointed.
