Ok, I can be vegan now. The spice in the chili, the flavors on the BBQ Hogie, the crunchy sweet potato fries, ALL AMAZING. I wish I lived closer. I'd eat here every day. Nothing about this meal made me miss meat at all. And the service was incredible as well. The staff is friendly and charming. You must try this place out.
I’ve been coming here for 5 years since my first month of moving to Evanston. I’ve also brought several guests here over the years. Being a vegetarian, this place has been amazing and often I am confused and spoiled for choice on what to order. During the pandemic, I’ve ordered take out and delivery several times. I believe I have tried everything entrée on their menu. Some of my favorites include the Mongolian stir fry, the pot pie and the Thai peanut noodles. The pot pie used to be a special on the menu until it became a part of their regular menu, probably because it was very popular ! I also like the lasagna and the shiitake walnut loaf a lot. They have a great dessert section, although I’ve mostly been too full to try them out. Among the desserts, the chocolate cake and the tiramisu are my favorite. Service has always been quick and wonderful, whenever I’ve come here. It’s a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the Chicagoland and a must try regardless of whether you live in the north shore of chicago.
Diverse menu makes this an excellent choice for brunch. If you are craving bacon - just remember it is vegetarian. The service was prompt, the coffee fresh from self-sourced beans, and the food very tasty. One thing that is nice is that they will do both vegan and regular cheese - so if you are lookin got add some 'cure' to your morning they will pile on the cheese as requested. One thing I might suggest, they have a brilliant bakery with outstanding desserts available - if they add some breakfast pastry of the same caliber I would have been all in - say a Jefferson Donut or the like. The place was full - but they take reservations. Enjoy.
Very nice Vegetarian restaurant with global selection. Gluten free and vegan options available too. Loved the ambience. Parking is little problem. Food is really good and excellent presentation. We had enchilada which was okay, we loved the nachos which comes with their fresh salsa. Double chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet was delicious- must have.
So BLAND! Oh my gosh, it was terrible. Appetizer that we ordered was the crispy brussel sprouts. Two main entrees were Seitan Marsala & Thai peanut noodles. Brussel sprouts- just okay. We added salt. For some reason the brussel sprouts are served on a bed of raw cabbage?? What’s the point of that? It was so bland and sort of strange to serve mini cooked cabbages basically what brussel sprouts are ontop of raw shredded cabbage… weird culinary choice but ok. Seitan Marsala. The “beef” pieces were decent- but they were overly salted. This was probably the only component of our meals that was actually seasoned but unfortunately it was overly salty. The mushrooms dont seem to be cooked with the seitan beef, rather it tasted like the seitan and mushrooms were cooked separately and then tossed together at the end. The mushrooms were a little sweet with some dried herbs on them, while the seitan was savory and overly salted. Again, weird culinary choice, it’s just not cohesive. Why not braise the mushrooms with the “beef” sort of like a traditional Marsala? It’s just wasn’t good. The mushrooms and the “beef” pieces didn’t work well together, and they should have. Served with the most bland sweet potato mash and mushy white rice, and blanched green beans- no seasoning on any of this. Peanut noodles- plain bland tofu, mushy rice noodles, mild peanut sauce. None of the food was inedible, it just wasn’t good, and it became completely unappetizing after a few bites so we brought leftovers home. Made it very easy to not over eat, so I guess that’s good ? Lol We will eat the leftovers for the sake of not wasting food, but honestly terrible food. I’m weirded out by these five stars reviews, I just can’t even fathom how this place can get to five stars based on our experience today. Sub par is an understatement. The place reminded me of a fake restaurant set from a 90s sitcom, too. Service was great, establishment seemed clean. Food sucked, bland and mushy! Straight up just save your money, do not go here. Sorry to say.
Very nice vegetarian restaurant. A tad bit pricey, but not out of the ordinary. Absolutely love the ambiance! Seating available inside or outside for table service. Also has seating for the to go bakery side if that's all you desire. Was impressed with the taste, quality and portion size of the vegetarian burger meal. The fries were really outstanding also. The omelette was fluffy and tasty, the salad that comes with the omelette was nice and had a light house vinaigrette. The corn muffin was fine and I added the butter and Jam, it could of been served warm for a better experience I feel. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake. It was absolutely delicious! Will definitely consider coming back, especially when I am in the mood for something from their cocktail and drink menu. The drink menu had some very interesting dessert cocktails. Definitely appreciated the service also. Thank you Chanel! Koi
We started out with the risotto appetizers. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The addition of a arugula salad & red sauce made this heavenly. My husband had Thai Spicey Noodles. He loved them. I have never had seitain sp?. It was in a delicious maderia sauce with onions & mushrooms. The rice was perfectly cooked and the green beans were crispy. This place was fantastic!
First things first... if you go to Blind Faith Cafe, and you should, see if Travis is working and be sure to sit at one of his tables. It's evident that he enjoys serving, which is likely why he's so good at it. He's personable, knows the menu, and is a joy to watch as he dances to the 80's rock they have piping through the speakers. He made my birthday celebration special by treating me to a piece of delicious chocolate peanut butter cake. For brunch, I had Huevos a la Mexicana which was an amazing amalgamation of eggs, green onions, jalapenos, avocado and tomatoes served with corn tortillas and a side of black beans with feta cheese. It really doesn't get any better than this! This dish came piping hot, tasted fresh and was so colorful! Phenomenal experience and will definitely go again.
I’m always on the lookout for a new vegetarian experience and the restaurant delivered. We started with the steamed potstickers. The dipping sauce was light with the right touch of acid. I had the grinder with sweet potato fries and my partner had the gyros. He said his mouth was alive. We will return.
This place is great, the food is great, service was great… I just wish they thought of us meat eaters also. I would have loved to put steak on my stir fry. Not everyone is vegan. Solid place!
