Black Iron Grille

First time there tonight! Excellent service, food was very good (impressed with "side salad".. not a side dish at all)... steak was good, house wine was even good - as a good wine drinker would know, typically "house wine" is disgusting. Can't wait to try this summer, outdoor dining looks great. Parking lot is fine.. when you grow up in the city, you realize parking is part of the charm. Would definitely go back again!

My wife and I went to try this place at an off time of day and on a whim. Being ex servers and managers of a restaurant the off times can reveal how an establishment really operates. Well.. Great news... It was awesome. Food, service, all of it. Owner even stopped bye to greet us. Very nice experience and will definitely be back.

First time there. Poorly lit sign and a very dark parking lot and building. Food had good flavor but I have had better elsewhere. They over cooked all 3 steaks. Service was poor and Extremely slow. The restaurant was 1/2 - maybe 3/4 full, so not very busy for a Friday night. It took us 15-20 minutes to get drinks. One person ordered a glass of wine, after 10+ minutes I asks about said glass of wine and he said sorry we have been really busy. About 5+ minutes later it arrived. It took about 30 minutes for the bread to come out. The salads came out and when they were almost done with them my soup came out. 3-4 bits into the soup the steaks arrived at the table. It seemed like it was ran by a bunch of college kids. We won't be back.

I've been waiting to try B.I.G. since they started renovating the old building. The parking could be thought it a little better. They have a large outdoor seating area that looks like it would be awesome in the warmer months, but I imagine having vehicles pulling in & out while dining detracts from the atmosphere. Because this visit was in November indoor dining was our only option. The place is clean but had a musty smell. The atmospere was casual, not stuffy out upscale. The service was friendly and efficient. The place had a neighborhood restaurant feel to it. The food was good, not great. The steak was cooked perfectly and was worth the price, everything else was lacking. Overall this is a good steak option. The service was good, the vibe friendly, and the steak tasty.

The food was good but not great, the restaurant itself was very nice and so was our server. Overall, I am sad to say I wasn't impressed. I might be willing to give it a second try, might have been not the best night, but at least can I cannot truly complain.
