Black Bear Diner

Overall, an okay experience. Food was fine— we got a breakfast and lunch item each. Eggs were great, hash browns were okay. Chicken strips were tasty but tough, fries were plentiful but bland. They do deliver on the promise of large plates, and the price was good. Our host was awesome and got us seated quickly. Table service took a while, and we are still in line waiting to pay. If you like bear-related ephemera, then this is your Mecca. The branding is off the charts here.

We stopped here on a Monday morning on the way out of town. It was the first time for us visiting a black bear diner. We were the only couple in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice! I once again ordered the egg Benedict with hash browns. My husband got an amazing looking omelette! His was made with all the breakfast meats, two cheeses and veggies. My only complaint was that my egg was over cooked and the sauce was really good and the ham was smoky and crispy. The hash browns were my least favorite and tasted more like raw potatoes than hash. Even adding salt and pepper didn't help much. The orange juice was really really good and the omelet was tasty.

My mom and I shared the Chorizo burrito. It was not as flavorful as I was expecting. It was lacking in taste. Was not impressed with the hash browns much either. The fruit was ripe and yummy. The portion of the burrito is plentiful. As Black Bear is known for their serving sizes the burrito and plate as a whole did not fall short there. The did serve the burrito already split on 2 plates for us to share and I certainly appreciate that consideration. The service was decent. Pet friendly.

First time here for breakfast and I order the volcano, it was a big serving. They run out of bacon and instead of asking me if I wanted something else, they just gave me extra sausage. The pancakes taste like cake, it would’ve been nice if they put that on the description, so I only ate one. Service was nice and very welcoming.

Absolutely wonderful! We ordered through Uber eats. I had the Reuben sandwich. The bread was perfectly toasted. When you have the rich buttery taste and a nice crunch. The meat was super tender. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I did reheat them in an air fryer. My daughter had the chicken fried steak Benedict. She said it was delicious! Eggs cooked perfectly. The meat was tender.

My waitress was really kind. She affirmed my selection of the blackberry stuffed French toast. It was very good. She was very attentive. I would have given 5 stars but my over medium eggs came over easy. Not a huge deal but it'll cost a star.Food: 4/5

We had 2 free meals because our last visit was not great. So we came in to give them a second chance. We decided and waited till 4 pm for the prime rib. When we got it, it was cooked perfectly, BUT ice cold. The lovely waitress offered to bring us another piece. her suggestion After 45 minutes and several warm ups on our baked potatoes, THAT brown blob is what the cook sent out. see pic He told her "if they want it hot, it HAS to be dark" I don't know what the hell that was but it smelled so gross I couldn't even have it on the table. And I work in Healthcare and can tolerate some rank stuff. Even the poor waitress was sickened by the smell. She was so nice! She was so embarrassed to even serve that, let alone just our whole experience. And for $29...... NO THANK YOU!!

So much food! Wow. A second meal for each of us with the leftovers. Flavor and freshness were great. Service pretty good. Coffee was meh, but the fresh OJ was amazing. Definitely looking forward to the next visit.

Had a great breakfast this morning - ordered The Volcano. Which was very filling! Great service and enjoyable atmosphere. Played a mix of popular hits from the 50's - 80's. Knew every song and couldn't help but tap my foot to the music.

Hannah was our server and the service was phenomenal and amazing. The portions and the food prices were awesome. The flavor of the food was amazing. Will definitely be back in sit in Hannah section. Parking: Lots of parking
