Birks

Customer service at this particular outlet is appalling. The manager is rude and uncooperative. I purchased a wedding set from Birks Square Phillips 7 years ago. The solitaire of the engagement ring has fallen out TWICE. The first time I brought it to Square Phillips, and they repaired it without cost or headache, despite it being beyond the usual "1 year guarantee". The diamond again fell out a second time, this time while I was living in Toronto. I took it to Square One mall, staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. Not only did they say they would repair the ring a second time at no cost, but after the ring was sent for inspection they offered to REBUILD the entire ring at no cost. Clearly, both these Birks outlets understood that there was a problem with the product and were prepared to offer good customer service. Then, a diamond fell out of the eternity wedding band. I brought it to the Fairview outlet, where the very rude manager had one response only "It is outside the usual warranty, we cannot repair without charging you". She refused to consider that this was the THIRD time a diamond had fallen out of a Birks brand ring (yes, both rings were made by Birks, not from another company). She told me I could pay $300 to have the diamond replaced but it would likely fall out again, or $2500 to rebuild the ring. Clearly, this woman has no understanding of good customer service. She is nothing more than a robot who spouts policy without looking at the situation. Needless to say I will be contacting Birks Head Office and filing a complaint. DO NOT DEAL WITH BIRKS FAIRVIEW. Also, it's probably a bad idea to buy any Birks products.

Clearly the worst experience EVER! I've waited 15 minutes in the store to purchase my wedding bands. No one aknowledge my presence and they even help customer that just past the door before me. They are clearly judging you by your look. I was on my break since I work in the mall and will definitevly not buy my wedding band there. Not to mention that I bought my fiance engagement ring at Birks.
