Great place to camp Easy access to the water. Very primitive but we had a lot of fun. We had a campfire too.
Great site right on the river. We even had a buck walk through out camp one night. However, the bathroom was DISGUSTING and unusable due to hundreds of flies in the building and a toilet that was 3/4 full. We were there 5 days and it was never emptied. We cut our trip short.
It's conveniently located & peaceful. Large campsites. No electric or water or flush toilets. But that's why it's called campground!
Campground is decent but a major turnoff in the restrooms. There are so many flies that it is unusable and the seat isn’t even secured to the floor. I understand vaulted toilets aren’t the best, but this is the worst I’ve ever seen and made it unusable. I won’t stay here again until the bathroom situation is fixed.
Great campground with sand for tents and easy access to the river. The campgrounds have metal fire surrounds and picnic benches. The road is close and cars can be heard passing by all night long. This campground is supposed to have four spots that are non reserveable, all four were marked reserved. Don't expect open spots without a reservation. It's a nice place to camp otherwise
It is a very nice place. They could definitely use another toilet.
BTW Reservation.com has the wrong directions to Big River Campground. It says “right” which takes you into the group camp. We went in circles looking for the place. I’m glad it wasn’t dark!
Spacious and partially shady not all of it shady all day, but some of it at all times. Close enough to the Deschutes to walk there in under 2 minutes, but far enough away to be paranoid about the little kids accidentally falling in. No potable water on site, but a very clean vault toilet.
Very spacious campsites with a great view of the river. We enjoyed watching the Canadian geese on the water. The picnic tables are large. The only downfall were the dirty bathroom. Our stay was 5 days. We would definitely camp there again!
Great huge group campsites. Extremely dusty in the communal areas, dust storms from running dogs. Good layouts, no shelters. Some road noise from across the river, but it's a quiet road at night.
