Benelux is one of Montreal's finest craft breweries with two locations, one in the borough of Verdun and the other in the heart of downtown Montreal. I visited the Verdun location. The ambiance was warm and inviting, casual, modern in design. It is located in a former bank, with the heavy vault door as part of the decor. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The small open kitchen pumps out good looking sandwiches, sausages, cheeses and other simple fare (I did not eat). The bar serves liquor, wine, cocktails and most importantly beer, of course. They brew a wide variety of styles to satisfy all tastes. Each one is a solid interpretation of the style brewed and worth trying. Would rate 4.5 if I could.

This place is a great addition to the neighborhood, the people that go there are friendly most of the time. If you're wearing shirts from your favorite show be prepared to strike a conversation! that's how friendly the people that go there are. For example, one night I was wearing a Rick and Morty sweater and a random guy struck a conversation with me about the show. In addition, it's a nice place to hang out with your friends, they serve different kinds of beer and food. The beer is really good and reasonably priced, but the food can be quite expensive. The decor is amazing and they have a somewhat big terrace at the back. The place is usually very crowded as to be expected with a bar. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Everything I wanted to order was out of stock after 2 hours of being open.
The service was practically non existent. No one to guide you to your table or take your order but once you do get service the servers are not very friendly.
Not to mention the napkins are "under the wax paper" that you're food is on top of, they weren't there.
Will not be returning. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

You think, as a restaurant/brewery/bar they'd get ONE of those things right. After giving it a chance about 11 times, I've concluded that If you like being made to pour your own water (they won't bring you any on the terrasse), pay 10-15$ for micro-waved sandwiches and chips from a bag, drink OK beer and wait an average of 10 minutes for staff to even look at you, then this is the place for you!!! Far better across the street at Palco. I'd try to be nicer if not for the fact that they'd probably be indifferent about my review, as with anything else they do miserably.

It's pretty good if all you want is micro brew beer and chill outside on the terrace. But the service is the slowest in town, there is no doubt. We always joke the time it takes to get another drink we could have had two. I guess it curves out our drinking. Every month or so they do a BBQ pig outside. It's always at least an hour late so don't rush. Bring a friend that can chat. The regular food is alright but pretty standard and very limited. But the best thing is when you order chips they warm them up for you. And instantly you realize that you've been eating chips wrong your entire life.
