This was our first trip to Madison and we ate at quite a few places, but this was by far our favorite. Our server was amazing, the place was immaculately clean and the food was perfection. The chips and house made salsa, I wish I could have taken it all home with me. I am a vegetarian and ordered three of the taco selections and they were all so good. We had another vegetarian in our party and a meat eater and we all agreed that this was five star. Great service, great food, great location and great venue!
Went here for dinner on occasion of a friends birthday - this is important because the birthday boy got a free shot! And no, not the flu shot - TEQUILA! Our server - Kyle - was absolutely awesome whether it was his recommendations or friendliness. The food was great including items from both the vegetarian no meat and non-vegetarian yes, meat palette. Would absolutely be visiting again! P.S. theres $2 tacos on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I hope I don’t go wrong with the days…
Ok this is my new favorite taco place in Madison! Located on the square with a perfect view of the Capitol. Love the friendly vibe of this place. We went in on a Sunday night and were promptly seated. Chips and salsa arrived quickly and each of the three kinds of salsa were soooo good!!! I couldn’t stop eating finally I had to move the bowls away from me. Love the options on the menu, I like that they have so many vegetarian options. They also have a nice selection of margaritas and they also make virgin margaritas. I had the mango margarita virgin and it was so refreshing. In the apps we ordered the quesadilla spicy pollo and los tres amigos. All three dips, queso fundido, black bean and guac were amazing. Even the quesadilla was so tasty. We then ordered the shrimp bowl, spicy pollo bowl, tostada salad , mix & match tacos. The tacos were splendid. The Korean inspired beef taco , zihuatanejo shrimp taco, and tempura shishito tacos are a must try. I love that that the mix and match tacos come with rice and beans. Everything we ordered tasted incredible. Great food, service, and location . Check it out!!
We came with low expectations because all other Capitol restaurants had a long wait time except this one. We were able to be seated outside within 5 minutes. Interior decor and cleanliness could use some work. Our server was amazing! Margarita was good but a little too sweet. Food was better than we expected. Definitely pay the $2 for the chips and salsa. It’s worth it! The soy chorizo vegan tacos were pretty good but missing the crunch of the fried potatoes. Also - staff should be trained that if someone orders the one vegan taco option that they DON’T want the pinto beans that contain animal fat. Always offer them black beans instead. Churros were ok, not worth the price and for some reason took 20 minutes to make? Server said a cook left and the ticket got missed and they were removed from our bill fortunately. I would come back on another spontaneous night out without a reservation.
Very good meal and friendly service. I recommend the carne asada bowl! The meat was tender and the sauce was very good. Also make sure to get the chips and salsa a great deal for three salsas to try. Also shown: Tuesday/Thursday $2 tacos. A great deal that shouldn’t be passed up!
Everything was delicious but the chips and queso was the most incredible I’ve ever had! I also got the Korean Inspired Beef Bowl which was pretty good. The meat melted in your mouth and had great flavor but the rest of the bowl was pretty ordinary. I’m definitely going back but I’m excited to try other things on the menu.
Pretty decent food, $2 tacos on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Otherwise normal days tacos seem a bit pricey for the size you get. But they are definitely worth it on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Fabulous selection of margaritas expertly prepared by bartenders who enjoy their job. Toss in some $2 tacos Tuesday & Thursday and you are guaranteed a perfect evening.
Your kitchen needs some help. I went to the bar and ordered some tacos, took a pretty decently long time for 2 tacos. But more concerning was the food delivery driver who I talked to for over 30 minutes. He still hadn't gotten his order to deliver even after I had gotten my food and was leaving, and was told he needed to wait 20 more mins or so!! Also I've never had a birria taco that was so not a birria taco before. LOL See image. I love the vibe of the place, feels nice, Maybe I'll give it another go, the Margarita was great at least :
I eat in there so often. Nice servers, delicious food. Clean restrooms. Only thing I think should be improved is the water quality. Which is very important for me to enjoy my food. It tastes chlorine like a tap water. I hope they figure out a water purifier or something. Other than that nice place to check out .
