HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The first time we eat at this diner and we loved it! I'm sorry it took me 4 years to decide to eat here, the outside looks doesn't even start to show how good everything is inside! TASTE: You can taste the fresh ingredients in every bite. When you order a kid's meal, apple slices means a whole fresh apple cut in 8 pieces. We ordered mashed potatoes and it tasted just like fresh potatoes, really fresh ingredients. SERVICE: Experienced waitresses helped us and they were just the best. Very cordial, attentive and on top of their business. PRICE: Great deal for what you get.

Love this chain, we go almost every time we drive down to the bay area. Today we met friends for brunch. 20 minute wait to be seated, mid day on Sunday not too bad. In general they have very big portions. The biscuits are very large. I got the cinnamon roll French toast and a side of hash browns. Perfect amount of food for me. Hash browns were crunchy and soft just the way I like. Service was friendly and quick. There was person dressed in the bear mascot walking around, took a picture with it which was awesome!

I always enjoy eating here and today was no exception! Our server, Rebecca, was fast and polite. She upholds the expectation of great service while at the Black Bear. The food was good! I didn't enjoy my cinnamon roll French toast, I found it too sweet which is why I did 4 stars instead of 5. But my companion ate the rest of my French toast in addition to his two HUGE pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, ham and hash browns. The portions are GIANT and for a great price. Try the pancakes- they are SO GOOD. Can't wait to come back!

Happy to see there was a location in Hillsboro! Food is great and for a decent price. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections are filling and tasty

The best for breakfast bar none! You will not leave hungry. The people are friendly and attentive. The food wonderful.
