I’ve been going to the yellow bus since I was three years old and it is just as I remember it. I lived on Park street when I first moved to America. I used to play on the swings for hours then my grandfather would buy me a small ice cream. It became a daily treat. What I didn’t understand was that my grandfather saved His change throughout the week to save up for my ice creams. The staff nicknamed me “The Penny Kid,” by the end of the summer. Revisiting Beansie’s as an adult is nostalgic. The staff feels like a family with new faces. The burgers are classic American slider style while the French fries have a classically salty taste. The fries aren’t crispy but that brown soft fry that pairs perfectly with a few sprays of vinegar. Popsicles, canned soda, and hot dogs are all perfect additions to your day at Battery Park. Beansie’s has allowed us to enjoy days, evenings, and sunsets here for years.
Prices are unlike anywhere else in Burlington Vermont, and FOR A YUMMY BURGER?! I accept. Only issue is they seem to be cash only, so if you’re like me and have Bank of America, sorry to say that you may have to find an atm out of state before coming to this delicious truck. However it is well worth it, as it accommodates towards the community of individuals such as myself when I was unemployed who suffer from limited income. That plus the food is very good!
It's March so only a few weeks till Beansie's Bus opens. Really looking forward to the burger, fries and all the other great food and friendly faces
They changed owners a few years ago but I still enjoy getting my hotdogs and fries here before battling the seagulls for my food and looking out over the lake. Highly recommend coming here for that mid day lunch with the family, friends, or just yourself!
This is what you want to order when you go to BEANSIE'S! You order the Double Cheeseburger with Michigan sauce, mustard and onions. It was a little over $20 for 2 double CB's and Fry’s - well worth it. Mother would send me to Beansie's as a child and she would say; “get me a minute steak with ketchup and onions” was her favorite. Beansie's Bus is an experience and a local favorite. The best view in Burlington over-looking Lake Champlain from Battery Park. Quality food costs money and with inflation- yes we all have to pay a little more. Thank you Beansie's for serving us throughout the decades!
Nothing like a freshly fried Beansie's corn dog and the hamburgers are super cheap
Food was not bad, but we found the prices too high for the amount of food you get. $4 for fries that can really fit in your palm. Don’t come here hungry!
This place is so so soooo over priced. 7.00 for a hamburger SMALLER THAN the size of a McDonald’s kids burger. PLUS 50 cents extra for a squirt of BBQ sauce on IT, ridiculous!! Fries are good but mega expensive too. CASH only business. Totally not worth the novelty of eating something made in an old school bus !
Great food. Ordered the Michigan dog, a hamburger with Michigan sauce and fries. The fries were awesome and they give you a lot- 2 people could split a small. The Michigan sauce was very tasty and a little spicy which I really liked. They’re cash only so come prepared!
I just graduated from UVM and went for the first time yesterday, on the last day before they closed for the season. The lady serving me gave me free fries and a drink. She was incredibly kind and it really made my day, plus the food was excellent. I'm excited to go back in April!!
